RE: [ALOCHONA] Re: [Dahuk]: JS probe into DGFI excesses : Right Demand

RE: Mohiuddin khan alamgir
---------------------------------

can someone throw more light on this ' thoroughly-corrupt' ex- secretary?
He got involved in politics while serving as a govt. secretary, misguided class 4 employees.... to chase and  bite the minister and few other politicians.

He had acquired questionable amount of wealth in the past. The below -average army generals could not employ smart-enough solicitors to prosecute him and had to release him from prison.

And look at him...he is barking again!
Who will take him to court again!! AND WHEN>>??

Best wishes.

Khoda hafez.

Recent probe against DGFI was raised by corrupt figures such Mohiuddin Alamgir, Abdul Jalil and a few others. Intelligence agencies play a vital role in every societies. Bangladesh needs to have this kind of agencies to keep an eye out for the corrupts. DGFI played crucial role in 1/11 which stopped the nuisances created by politicians. If there was no 1/11, there wouldn't be a JS ruled by AL. It is the direct action of military and DGFI which brought the level playing field in the general election. Our politicians are champions in making mistakes and if they make the mistake of taking action against DGFI, then when we will really need someone to intervence we wouldn't have them.
I am really surprised that someone who was sentenced 13 years, gets out of jail and shouts in parliament. We need to find out where the rules of the land is. How can a convict be in the parliament, is that because his party in power? Please send him where he belongs.

 JS probe into DGFI
excesses
: Right Demand

Daily New Age has reported that Workers Party president Rashed Khan Menon Sunday demanded a parliamentary investigation into the excesses done by the military intelligence during the two years' rule of the interim administration.
'Parliament needs to investigate the excesses in order to stop their recurrence once and for all,' Menon said while speaking on a thanks giving motion on the presidential address delivered in parliament on January 25. Menon drew a parallel between the activities of the Inter-Service Intelligence of Pakistan and
Bangladesh's military intelligence agency, Directorate General of the Forces Intelligence, saying the DGFI had spied on the media through its information wing while it controlled politics through its political wing. 'My question is whether Bangladesh has turned into Pakistan,' he said adding that the terms of reference of the DGFI stipulate that it would provide intelligence information for political authorities. 'But the DGFI tried to control politics and politicians during that period, they tried to create a king's party. They prevented the 14-party alliance leader Sheikh Hasina from returning home from abroad, they tried to split political parties and create misunderstanding among party leaders in the name of reforms,' Menon said.   Menon termed the Fakhruddin Ahmed-led caretaker government a military-controlled administration .They suspended fundamental rights and tens of thousands of people were evicted from their homes in the name of drives against illegal occupation. As many as 4,000,000 poor people were deprived of their earnings He also said the interim government had launched a drive against politicians in the name of anti-corruption drive and did not differentiate between corrupt elements and politicians. 'They also tried to implement the so-called 'minus two' theory to keep the two top leaders away from politics.
Referring to law minister Shafique Ahmed's statement that the immediate past government was a doctrine of necessity, the WP leader said that the question of giving legitimacy to this government did not arise. 'We can forgive, but we cannot validate the activities of the military-backed government.' He said the repetition was not expected. 'I demand a parliamentary committee to investigate the actions also of the military-backed government to stop its recurrence.'He called on the new government to be vigilant that national interest was not harmed while going for agreements with foreign companies for exploration and extraction of mineral resources.
We support the statement of Mr. Menon in essence .The Jatiya Sangshad ( Parliament ) should enquire into all extra-legal activities of the past government. The illegal political activitied of DGDFI should be stopped for ever. Mr Menon has mentioned about only ISI, he could also mention CIA, KGB,RAW, MOSSAD.In fact there is need for an international awareness and/or  protocol as regards the role of spy agencies.
