Court verdict - Life imprisonment of rapist Teachers  Historic

 

The Centenary Year of International Women's Day  is celebrated through out the world. Week long programmes are taken by the All India Mahila Sanskritik Sangathan(All India M.S.S.) through out the country.

 

On the eve of the international women's Day on 8th. March. the All India M.S.S. staged a demonstration highlighting the atrocities on women , demanding   equality, freedom to  end subjugation of women and No More Paten in Gujarat. Today is the day of Judgment on Patan gang rape episode by the teachers  Due to the social movements released through out the state and the courageous   un perplexed  stand of the victim, students and the guardians, supported by the concerned people of the state finally the teachers   a re awarded life imprisonment , which is very significant victory on the eve of the International Women's Day.

  All India M.S.S.  displayed a  fine Exhibition depicting the history of the genesis of the International Women's Day and role of women leaders through out the world.The exhibition highlighted the role of social reform movement in  India and the  role played by women in  India's Freedom Struggle. The exhibition highlights the important quotes from different personalities of the world and India on women's question and women emancipation.

This exhibition was inaugurated by  eminent women activist and writer Suvarna behn. Suvarna behn emhasised on  women's emancipation.

Meenakshi Joshi, the convener of All India M.S.S. of Gujarat Chapter highlighted the  subjugation of women  in the state and reiterated the struggle of women in the state  against the Patan Gang Rape. Ms. Joshi appealed to observe the International Women's day in dignified manner. She said that the  massage of women's emancipation  will be carried through out the state during the Centenary Celebration of International Women's Day.

In spite of examinations the girls students joined the programme enthusiastically.

All India M.S.S. staged a demonstration in Surat , Chowk area on 5th. March. The exhibition and demonstration will be  in Baroda on 7th.

 

PATAN VERDICT HISTORIC

 

 

Meenakshi Joshi, the Convenor of All India Mahila Sanskritik Sangathan (All India M.S.S.) and Bhavik Raja, the Secretary of All India Democratic Students' Organization (All India D.S.O.) in a joint statement term the  court verdict on Patan gang rape case as   HISTORIC. They  lauds the courage of the victim and unique support of the  students, and the guardians  who dared to face all threats and intimidations.   The statement reiterates  that it is the victory of all the  women,students   and the concern people of the state.The Verdict on the eve of the centenary celebration of International Women Year is very significant one.
