To a 'religious minded' person, the Satyayuga is always in the past. Common sense fails here. For the Jews, it was during the leadership of Moses though he could not deliver the promised land. For the Christians, it was when Jesus was around. He died crying, "Oh heavenly father, why has't thou foresaken me?", essentially declaring the emptiness of his faith. For Moslems like S. A. Hannan, the age of truth had been over with the last 'rightly guided' Caliph. For Hindus, it may be the kingdom of Rama though they say that one-fourth of the society was corrupt by then.

Such men use all the marvels of science of the present world. Yet they long for their versions of the perfect times. They should voluntarily reside in places without scientific facilities like electricity, running water, and modern medicines.

Akbar-Bhai,

It is always nice to hear from you. You are exactly right. Those who are hell-bent are unsalvageable. You will think that, people who opposed the independence movement should change and come to terms with the reality. That never happened; they keep trying to undo the progress made during and after the independence. People, like Hannan, keep on looking backward, not forward. I cannot understand why religious minded people cannot see the advent of the modernity. They always think, the best has happened thousands of years ago, and nothing can be better than that, in spite of millions of wonders modernity has given to them. Could we blame the brain-washing that comes with the religion?
