UK expatriates to demonstrate to handover Mueenuddin
Bangladeshi expatriates in UK are set to hold a demo on Wednesday, November 27 outside the Houses of Parliament, demanding that the UK government revoke war criminal Choudhury Mueenuddin's British citizenship and extradite Mueenuddin to Bangladeshi authority.
The demonstration is arranged by the ICT Support Forum, a platform of UK based pro-liberation Bangladeshi organizations.
Chowdhury Mueenuddin, currently residing in the UK, was found guilty of committing war crimes during the Bangladesh War of 1971 on 2 November 2013, by the Bangladesh's International Crimes Tribunal on 11 charges relating to abduction & killing of 18 intellectuals that included nine teachers of Dhaka University, six journalists and three doctors.
During Bangladesh's liberation war in March 1971, Mueenuddin was an active member of the student wing of the Islamo fascist Jamaat-e-Islami which actively opposed Bangladesh Liberation War and aided the Pakistani military in committing the genocide.
In 1995, Channel 4 Dispatches documentary 'War Crimes File' presented a series of evidence and eyewitnesses that directly implicated Chowdhury Mueenuddin as the leader of the gang responsible for disappearances and killing of Bengali intellectuals.
