Dear members,
Piety can never be sin, as the write-up says.This is an isolated incident being magnified.There are many more people in the West who commit sucide due to lack of adjustibility or frustration or domestic violence.
The parental responsibility to bring up children in own culture or religion is the universal norm in every religion and culture.. This can not be dissolved in the name of Patriarchy.
What has been wrong in this case, if true, is exercising force.This should not have happened .Islam generally want to achieve its objective including Tazkyah( purification of individual or society) by convincing and good reasoning.Islam also says about Hikmah ( wisdom of situations and societies and time).West is not the place to force anybody anything, there only rational arguement and counselling count.
The Muslims have a lesson in this.
