Our distinguished guests on this week's call-in show Hello Washington were Barrister Amirul Islam, an eminent jurist from Dhaka, Dr Ahmed Ziauddin, an International Lawyer from Brussels who is working on Genocide and Dr Nurun Nabi, a councilor from New Jersey who was a freedom fighter in the War of Liberation in Bangladesh and has written several books on the war.
The guests while answering the questions of our listeners said that there were no legal and moral impediments to bring the war criminals to justice. All that is required is the overwhelming support of the people of Bangladesh and genuine efforts by the present caretaker government. They also felt that persons and parties associated with war crimes and contribute to religion based politics should be barred from participating in any political affairs in Bangladesh.
Anis Ahmed has more on the story.
