KHALEDA, THE BANDIT WOMAN
Let us say, a poor house-owner has earned little wealth. Now let an
armed rogue (woman) comes to snatch away one of the most valuable the
earnings. Let us call this rogue "Bandit woman". At this stage
another lady appears with her associates bare-handed to save the
precious wealth. Let us call her the "Saver lady". In extreme fight
this lady's party wins. At this stage who appeared in the scene as
mediator is the present "Care-taker government". Yes, this is exactly
what happened in the political arena of Bangladesh during 2007-date.
No one should have any difficulty to recognize that Khaleda Zia is the
Bandit woman, who wanted to snatch away our valuable wealth "right to
elect our representative" which we earned on 23rd March, 1956
(Republic day), when we were part of Pakistan. In Pakistan the Muslim
League and the military rulers like Ayub Khan, Yahiya Khan etc.
snatched away our right. In 1971 came Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman, the father of the nation, who not only reassured our right for
vote, but gave us by far the most valuable wealth, which is an
independent country, Bangladesh.
In Bangladesh again military ruler Ziaur Rahman snatched away our
right and never gave it back. His death however, created golden
opportunity for the same to return. But Ershad, another military ruler
snatched it away. It was regained in 1990, due to incessant struggle
of the common people under the banner of a number of parties. And
Khaleda came to power. When it was time for talking people's mandate
in 1996, she tried all sorts of fowl games to avert it. We all know
that the "conspirator woman" failed and Sheikh Hasina came to power.
After 5 years there was time for another mandate. Khaleda came to
power and Hasina has not been known to play any fowl game. After
Khaleda's term when it was the time for people's mandate again,
Khaleda with her associates played the role, this time not that of a
thief, but a bandit. She used the law maintaining forces of the
Republic in killing the common people, she incited the rogues of BNP
and Jamate Islami to murder people and everything else an evil soul
could do.
At this stage the present Care Taken Government came to mediate,
reestablish people's right to vote and work in the short gap. In
addition to preparation for election this government did some
excellent things like, (i) Bringing the offender (whosoever he/she
might be) to justice, (ii) Establishing independence of the Judiciary,
(iii) Re-establishing discipline in many sectors etc.
When the above is the political picture of Bangladesh in brief, the
worst thing some of the Advisors of the current care taker government
did was, "branding Khaleda and Hasina in the same category". They
failed to understand that the golden opportunity they have got now to
reconstruct this country happened because of the toiling fight and
sacrifice of Hasina and the members of Awami League. It is a mystery
that some matured persons like advisors branded a "BANDIT WOMAN" with
a "SAVER LADY" in the same category. (Do you remember the term "Dui
Netri" first fabricated Motiur Rahman of Prothom Alo and picked up by
few advisors ?)
We believe, in spite many of their excellent jobs this caretaker
government would be "remembered with dishonor" for the above endeavor
of some of its members.
If Sheikh Hasina or any member of her part commit any punishable
offense (which some of them of course did), there is absolutely no
harm in punishing them. But what makes those advisors to mention the
names of the Bandit woman and the Savior lady in the same category ?
In Bangladesh we have gor the political party Awami League, which
under the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujhibur Rahman gave us
independent state. A few smaller parties acted as their close
associates, where Jamate Islami acted as "conspirator and friend of
the enemy".
Ziaur Rahman formed BNP for the sole purpose of seeing himself in
power for all time to come. After him Ershad formed Jatiyo party for
the same purpose. They purchased the political leaders having less or
no morality to join their parties. When there was pressure from them,
many political leaders with morality abandoned politics for ever.
Hence, the reality is, if you see a number of political leaders or
workers of Awami league, you can be sure some of them might have
joined the party for personal gains and probably they are dishonest,
but the others are honest and have morality. But when you see some
political leaders or workers of Jatiyo Party or BNP, you can be sure,
none of them have morality or honesty and that, all (I repeat, al) of
them jointed these parties for some sort of gain.
The poor illiterate person might have joined BNP or JP for little or
big money. But educated men like, Professors, Teachers, Doctors,
Engineers, Doctorates, Journalists and even personnel from the arena
of literature, culture and performing arts joined these parties for
money, illegal promotion, fortune, power etc. Whenever you see a
leader or worker from BNP or JP, you should not have any doubt that
"He/she is dishonest and has no morality".
(There goes a famous story that, in one function many prominent
performers were asked to make the audience laugh. All but the last one
failed. The last person started saying "There was a good man in
Noakhali district ….. ". That made each and every audience to laugh.
Now, the same incident should take place when you replace Noakhali
with BNP or JP, not to say anything about Jamat).
We live in a country where bandits come from time to time to snatch
away our valuable wealth, our right to vote. Unfortunately, in the
country we have so many dishonest and immoral people that they can
easily assemble them around for fulfilling their evil intentions. This
is a scene that we have been witnessing for a long time.
This time we have seen an altogether new thing. We have noticed that
even though the caretaker government is supposed to be formed with
honest and intelligent persons, some of them lack in commonsense to
differentiate between a (a) BANDIT WOMAN and a (b) SAVER LADY.
