[vinnomot] Job Opening - Linguists needed at the Bangladesh Interim Government

Job Opening - Linguists needed at the Bangladesh Interim Government

Starting with the name of it... the governement needs help from linguists to redefine its image.

Government have to do a lot of deal-making and compromise. But the news of these has to be broken to the people in a way that is palatable to them.

Our intelligentia is unfamiliar with the term 'adaptation' or compromise based on reality. They only know struggle or andolon. Being uncompromising is a virtue here - or at least - thats what they preach. So, when Khaleda Zia or Hasina is unprepared to deal with their opponents in a mature manner, we should not be so surprised. And exactly that is what created the scenario leading to 1/11.

Why one does the struggle or andolon? What is the end of it?

We know, struggle is a continous process, as reform is too. But you can not just continue to do struggle and not do any reform.

It is stupidity of our mature generation (credit goes to Golam Azam who planned to eliminate the best of that generation and the remaining better ones forgot to talk sense) that has lead to present day crisis. Everything should be done thinking about the future of the youth, the young Bangladeshis who are currently in school, college and universities.

But in the name of adaptation or compromise, you can not leave the future of the country out in the cold. Hasina and Khaleda has done that. It is a shame that they were vying for support from Ershad. Can you beleive it? Ershad of 1990 came back to current position - only based on the foolishness of the AL and BNP. To them, talking to each other wasn't possible to save the country, but they would send their messengers with cash to Ershad. You call it compromise? We call it shame.

Anyways, today we wanted to highlight one issue. When there is a need to compromise or adapt the operations to current need, the language, attitude and body language plays a big role. Compromise or adaptation do not mean that you have to leave your principles behind. Rather you do the adaptation or compromise to strenthen your principled position.

If you thought some of the ideas are worth of your reading time, please forward it to others. If you have an ear to the columinsts in regular traditional media, please forward it to them. If you have an ear to the journalists and news editors of the electronic media, discuss it with them. Hope they would look at the suggestions and give due diligence.

Thanks for your time,
Innovation Line

Dear readers, also, if you thought the article was important enough so it should come under attention of the head of the government please forward the message to them. Email address for the Chief Advisor: feeedback@pmo.gov.bd or at http://www.cao.gov.bd/feedback/comments.php . The more of you forward it to them, the less will be the need to go back to street agitation. Use ICT to practice democracy. It is already proven that this government responds to the feedback.
