Is Nicholas Kristof trying to demote or promote John
McCain? It looks like he is actually promoting McCain,
read the last paragraph of his article.
As I wrote earlier, the US media is trying to have a
Republican elected as the President in the 2008
general election. For now, the plan seems to ensure
Barak Obama's nomination from the Democratic Party, so
that he can be defeated by McCain in November.
McCain is a flip-flopper, which is not likable. Where
he has not flip-flopped is in his support for George
Bush's budget-plundering war in Iraq. The US is
wasting billions of dollars in a worthless war in
Iraq, while this country is letting the terrorists in
Afghanistan and Pakistan get stronger. It is a shame
that the voters of the US still think that Bush is a
good terrorism-fighter, and that McCain is worth
supporting because of his stand on the Iraq war.
My prediction is that McCain will be the next
president of the United States. I am actually quite
scared of this kind of American decisions. Because, my
daughter is a US citizen by birth, and I do not see
her going back to her ancestral homeland of the Indian
sub-continent. I fear, with this kind of poor
political decisions, the United States will be a
second rated nation compared to China and other
developed nations in a matter of decades. (I am not
too optimistic about India because of its endemic
corruption and irresponsibility).
