Assalamu Alaikum.A member has said below quote religion divides, while language unitesunquote.
Language unites is always not correct .In any country where there are two or more languages , language becomes or can be a divisive factor.As we are seeing in India ( in eastern,southern and western part), in Pakistan, in Burma ,in Sree lanka and lots of other countries.For that reason alone, language can not be ignored or neglected.
Nationality of a country is, according to political science, is strengthened by race, language, religion .Religion can not also be ignored .The followers of the majority religion should have the right to make their religious teaching, if they have a law, as the basis of public lawof their state .Private and person law is a different matter, in this every communiyy can follow its law.This is in accord with human rights and democracy.
