[mukto-mona] Re: BBC article containing misinformation. Send email demaning removal of the article from the site

If some of you think statement that reads, "They include the leaders of Bangladesh 's largest party, Jamaat-e-Islami - which at the time opposed the break-up of Pakistan." is not a misinformation then I would say that you agree with the statement that Jamaat is indeed the largest political party.

 

Or, perhaps, you might have overlooked that statement.

 

Jamaat, a cadre based religious extremist political party with views similar to those of Fascists of Italy and Nazis in Germany, barely holds the rank of the third largest political party with a smaller percentage of votes (around 8%??) received in 1996 election.

 

This is a dangerous statement (misinformation) because such statement may confuse the foreign readers with question in their mind like why sector commanders are fighting against the largest political party in the country.

 

The amalgamation of of such apparently Innocuous statements may lead to big problems.

That statement, referring to Jamaat as the largest party, in the article may also be used as reference by others to justify that Bangladesh cater to radicalism.

 

I whoelheartedly support the sector commanders' demand for the trial of the War Criminals and do anything to promote their cause.

 

Please send eamil to BBC demanding the removal of the article and disown the statement.
