LOL you can take everything with a grain of salt. Lies are more of a
fact of life than truth will ever be. Remember the lies that led to
the Iraq war in the first place. There can be nothing worse than that.
I am certain that if I lived in Iraq, I would be longing for the days
of Saddam. If you weren't Saddam's political enemy you were safe
enough, it seems. The ordinary society was much more advanced that we
have been led to believe, as far as I can tell from people who lived
there before the war.
As for the person's writing, there is nothing strange about that.
Many ESL writers are better than persons such as myself whose first
language is English. Some people take much pride in learning a second
language; others are educated in English countries. There was nothing
in the writing to lead me to think that it wasn't a genuine position,
whoever the writer happened to be.
