[mukto-mona] Re: Hello?

WRT: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mukto-mona/message/46883

It looks Mr. Guha is so concerned for `minority' rights that he
cannot speak for himself, he needs his friend Jiten Roy to defend
him now. Well …probably `his standing up for minorities' is only
seen by him, and his bona fide follower, Jiten. What else I can say!

Let me clarify it once again, and hopefully for the last time. Mr.
Guha was one of the main proponent and propagator of US invasion in
Iraq in Bengali forums, even though it was quite clear at that time-

1) Iraq had no WMD
2) Iraq had no connection with Al qaeda.
3) Iraq had no connection with 9/11

But that did not stop this champion of minority defender to
propagate lies manufactured by Bush-Cheney and co for years. This
minority champion, Shitangshu Guha does not see any minority rights
violation when 1 minillon death occurs in Iraq, the three-four
million dead in Vietnam (do not forget that how US government Pol
Pot after Vietnam had overthrown the regime), the hundreds and
thousands dead in Latin America, half a million children who died
in Iraq and Afghan due to sanctions or bombing. Neither his shallow
writeups ever mentions long term Bush-Saudi monarchy relationship
to `establish democracy' and prevent `Islamic fundamentalism'.

This champion of `minority defender' did not see any liberal
freethinker speaks for the minorities of Bangladesh. Let me try to
refresh, if not remedy, his selective amnesia. Long before Mr.
Shitangshu Guha and his organization HRCBM came into picture with an
erroneous petition mentioning 3 million `hindus' were killed in
1971, the participants and members of mukto-mona wrote forceful
articles and made numerous petitions based on factual data and first
hand experience to stop minority oppression. Those articles and
petitions are still in our sites. I wonder where had been this
champion of minority defender!!!! However, there is one major
difference between Mr. Guha and us. While Mr. Guha is seen to be
outspoken on minority rights of Bangladesh (read `only hindu
rights), we mukto-monas showed our voice against all kinds of
social injustices, religious and oppressive dogmas, doctrines, and
discriminations. That's why we took a strong stand not only against
the minorities of Bangladesh, but also all kinds of human rights
violations such as oppression of ethnic/religious minority community
and gender-based discriminations against women, and others. We have,
and still do condemn oppressions and persecutions against minority
Hindu, Quadiyani and other ethnic communities in Bangladesh;
targeted killings of minority Muslims in Gujarat, India, oppressions
of Palestinians and others. We strongly oppose Iraq War since we
don't support illegal and coercive occupation of an independent and
sovereign but militarily weaker country by its stronger
counterpart. While we made petitions for a fair trial of Gujarat
massacare, or against Hindutva Vandalism on Renowned Artist M F
Hussain's Paintings, or plights for Palestine rights etc, this
champion of minority rights defender kept his voice silent for obvious reason.

Lets not forget these chapters.
