Thank you for this post.
It is all very well to write about the challenges human beings are
facing in today's society. Those challenges have been there since
recorded history. And they reside precisely in the fact that we are
unable to see ourselves as others see us.
We are quick to point out the faults of the others but close our ears
to any description of ourselves. It is a wise person indeed that can
accept the kind of personal criticism that s/he is willing to dish
out to others.
It is not surprising that we are unable to accept criticism. We have
been schooled to believe that we have to be the brightest and the
bast. Society requires that we push others and their ideas out of the
way as we race to the finish line of our personal goals.
Talk is cheap. We can all spin a good line about who is this or that
or not this or that. When is comes down to practicing what we are
preaching, that is entirely another matter.
Weeping for one's self and one's group, while ignoring and
disparaging the other person and group lies at the base of the
world's ills.
