Great! I wonder who will be chosen as Indira Gandhi. Forget Hasina as I believe she had no role at that time of history significant engough to appear as a young lady in despair. Nevertheless, I also congratulate Mr. Chowdhury for his initiative but what I am skeptic about is Mr. Chowdhury's impartiality in the story-line and I do not know whether he was the one to play-write the historic events. He has been the cause of several serious contoversies which includes his welcoming of the Indians to directly interefere in Bangaldesh's internal affairs in his tour to New York sometime ago and in his suggestion for the Communist Party in Bangaldesh to act as an underground political party as a wing of Awami League in his discussion with the leader of Communist party in Bangladesh in a TV programme organised by Bangla TV in London in April 2008. I welcome the initiative and I hope the play should stict to complete facts as those are extremely delicate and highly sophisticated account of history. As long as the truth is exposed, I am sure the film will be a milestone in the filming world. Our liberation is a hall mark among struggle of ethnic, social and cultural revolutions arounf the world and Sheikh Mujib is the name of a king among Hall of Fames in political legends. To project a person of the magnitude of Bangabandhu (Sheikh Mujib), I could not imagine no one other than him," Chowdhury was quoted as saying in New York."Now not only Amitabh, his other family members have also agreed to take up the challenge," added Chowdhury. It was not clear when Chowdhury will start shooting the film, which will be made in English and dubbed into Bengali, Hindi and other languages.Mujib led Bangalis to an independence struggle in 1971, which resulted in the independence of former East Pakistan, now Bangladesh.Mujib was killed, along with most of his family, in a 1975 coup.© Thomson Reuters 2008.
