A response: A war criminal in VOA Bangla call-in-show "Hallow

VOA Bangla Call-in Show: Hallow
Mukto-mona Jamal Hasan, probably a fan of Fatemolla, colleague 0f Anis Ahmed described the show as "explosive debate'! It seemed to give the call-in-show a 'special' propaganda machine was set and activated too. What was the specialty?
It became special with the participation of a Jamat stalwart war criminal Kamruzzaman. Two veterans were set to counter one Kamruzzaman. 1:2 theories were applied by the host! And Fatemolla getting the opportunity to apply his Sharia knowledge against Wahabi-moudoodi Kamruzzaman was in a high flying mood. And it seemed that he liked the 'dish' presented by VOA Bangla host Anis Ahmed. Being over delighted Fatemolla flashed message to spread the news, 'far-n-wide' well in advance!
To our utter surprise it was seen "Explosive debate' ended but no after-reaction was visible. It appears some powerful remote control device might have jammed the 'hot' issue out of mukto-mona sky! However, I could not resist my temptation to write a few words since it was an unusual admixture of panel members. It was very difficult to accept a war criminal jamat leader along with two other panel members. Question remains how long this 'give and take' or 'peaceful co-existence' policy for so-called 'greater interest' would continue? New let us look at the aftermath of the promulgation of the new policy by hosts of extreme Islamists.
Nationally even Internationally 'famous' Islamic battle ground of the East,----- Dhaka Baitul Mukarram mosque, its northern gate and adjoining areas were still hot, when few 'Fridays' to be observed as 'holy jihad-day' to nullify National Women Development Policy-2008, when the religious extremists violating emergency rule launched organized attack on Police, jihadis not only beat Police mercilessly, its gun was captured by them as booty, at such a critical juncture VOA Bangla radio journalist Anis Ahmed picked up National Women Development Policy-2008 for hosting Hallow Washington call-in-show. As a burning and sensational issue it was no doubt an appropriate subject. But it has left behind some serious questions too.
Was it impossible to organize the show without a war criminal like Muhammad Kamaruzzaman?
Was it considered without his views the show would have flopped?
For other two panel members was Kamruzzaman the fittest one to make the show thought provoking and worth?
How come Kamruzzaman was considered an expert to opine on Quran and Sunnah matters?
It would not be a surprise if in near future if Mr. Anis presents 'islami chitabid' Golam Azam or Motiur Rahman Nijami, allama Delwar Hossain Sayeedi as 'soth manush' to say last word in matter of religion'. Mukto-monas, from now on it is better to remain prepared to sallow the sugar quoted pill.
Experts opine instead of yielding any positive result it has rather backed fire and become boomerang as Mr. Anis imposed Mr. Qamruzzaman a Jamati war criminal (please see War Crimes Fact Finding Committee (WCFF list) upon VOA Bangla listeners! Mr. Anis has removed the gap between Freedom Fighters and war criminals. His call-in-show has become a fall-in-show!
Mr. Anis has put both Freedom Fighters and war criminals on the same platform overlooking ideological implications and stand. He has failed to show any respect to our Mukti Juddho, Mukti Joddahas and the Great War of Liberation. How this could happen when the people of Bangladesh have demanded in one voice the trial of the War Criminals and the Sector Commanders Forum is relentlessly working for that?
Was it too difficult to organize a jamat free program on the subject?
Getting favor from Mr. Anis, a jamati war criminal got the opportunity to speak out, clarify their stand and send strong message to jamatis around the globe to become united against the new law. No doubt it gave a big and renewed thrust to jamat-policy. Many disgustedly remarked, 'predicate' was negative for a good subject. It was like giving 'chona' (cow-urine) in a jar filled with milk.
As Mukto-mona we have some questions to know from Mr. Anis since it was a public show:-
1. Was he not aware of Muhammad Kamaruzzaman's role in 1971?
2. How could a branded controversial Jamat leader qualified as a guest for the program?
3. Was it unknown to the host that M.Kamaruzzaman's name has recently been published by the War Crimes Fact Finding Committee (WCFF)?
4. How come advocate Sultana Kamal took part in a program with a war criminal? We all know they are pole asunder. Yet listeners have found to their utter surprise that they can sit together in a conference line and there is nothing wrong in it! The twine has met! People of Bangladesh strongly believe, if Khala-Amma Begum Sufia Kamal was alive today she would not have allowed this to happen.
5. Mr. Anis has proved the theory of Mr. Md. Ali Jinnah true, "an enemy of today is a friend of tomorrow''! No doubt it was an adventure that has undermined the spirit of the War of Liberation and our highest sacrifice.
6. It seems Mr. Hasan Mahmud, a mukto-mona, Director Sharia Law in the Canadian Muslim Congress and a writer of a widely discussed book, Islam and Sharia from Toronto also happily attended the show with Mr. Qamruzzaman Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, a fundamentalist Islamic party in Bangladesh. His hi-mood was reflected in his message (mentioned above).
7. Mr. Molla's prior call and his participation with Mr.Qamruzzaman has by now reached to all quarters. He can now proudly claim of achieving a 'big success'! It seemed, so long, without encountering Mr.Qamruzzaman; Hasan Mahmud's success was 'incomplete' No doubt new 'palok' has been added in his fez. A great success indeed! Has his appeal yielded any fruit? Yes! It was a indeed a grand success for him to talk on a subject with war criminal jamati leader. After concluding an 'explosive debate' he has at-last seen the wings of success! (Listeners please vote who won and how?)
8. We are sorry to say, Mr. Anis has dashed to pieces the hopes and aspiration of the listeners who took him as a pro-liberation force! In the context it is rightly observed by some listeners that, ------------- pro-liberation force has a 'big heart even to receive their staunchest enemy forgetting the past and future harm and their evil designs even endangering their own existence'. Same saying has been proved true by Mr. Anis. This 'generosity' has done much harm in the past and is doing immense harm still. Otherwise the history of post liberation Bangladesh would have been otherwise.
9. One must know, even after more than 60 years Nazis are not given the opportunity to participate or share their views with the people of Germany. The reason is not unknown to us all. They committed crime against humanity. Is there any doubt about the sin committed by the jamati rajakars, so-called peace committee men, war criminals in the name of Islam? Jamat stalwart has adorned Hallow Washington program! Mr. Anis can't claim this was fair. He has given him the 'mouka' to talk big! Talk with impunity too against the CT Government.
10. One Mr. Jamal Hasan probably a VOA Bangla presenter, a colleague of Mr. Anis also joined the ferry though lately, on 25 April i.e. after the program was over, flashed a mail in mukto-mona calling the show "explosive debate'. It seemed as a gesture to please his friend and host Anis. What a naked gesture of praise? This sort of approach and mentality has complicated the situation and burning issue like it has gone out of sight.
11. Mr. Anis as a 'generous radio personality' may well argue that 'jamatis must be heard too'. Bu they are very hard to Bangla, Bangali, Joy Bangla, Mukti Juddho, Mukti Joddha and Swadhinota.
If the host Anis has acted upon from that angle of vision and consideration, then it has to be said, he is a generous man. His heart is really big. Taking advantage of his 'generosity' and given platform Mr.Qamruzzaman didn't fail to utilize his party's '71 old 'stand' and agenda against the National Women Development Policy-2008 in the name of Islam.
Remember, Bangladesh would never or ever forget jamat's heinous role in 1971. Killing, rape, arson and all 'kabira gunahs' were committed in the name of Islam! What makes the difference after 37 years? They are not repented for their heinous acts of brutality and crime. They have not asked 'Touba' for that! The only difference is visible, that jamat has penetrated into the citadel some pro-liberation force and established a foothold taking the advantage and weakness of the so-called 'generous' men! Anis's program is a glaring example of that. History can be overlooked for some time but can never be erased. History repeats itself. Time has come to assess where we really stand and determine 'Who is who'!
Would like to see more reactions from the patriot mukto-monas so that the spirit of our War of Liberation guides us to lead us to the ananta mohona of success and our posterity could be proud of their forefathers. Thanks.
