Having all respect for William Shakespeare I would say that no poet on earth like Tagore have so deeply touched the life of his people. His genius has made an everlasting affair with us. He snatched out this right from the eternity. His presence in our lives is a very powerful one for many reasons. He spoke our mind through his writings. He sang our sweetest songs and pained our moods. Hamlet says,' I die Horatio, rest is silence". But in Tagore there is a humming life every where. His rendezvous with silence ends with a song as he says, Tomar kachey e bor magi, moron hotey jeno ganer shoorey jagi, Rabindranath Tagore painted our emotions with the ink of eternity.
The impregnable wall of time failed to stop his journey towards the mysterious future. He knew the limitations of human life but made a castle for himself in that void. This is the castle from where he still peeps at our lives through his songs and poems. The creativeness of Tagore was not merely a poetic matter. It was a mixture of deep philosophical thoughts carved out from the ancient Indian mysticism. He created a unique timeless literary recipe by mixing the tune of time which has surpassed the barrier of time and space. There lies the greatness of Tagore.
