Re: [mukto-mona] Who are Secularist?

WRT: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mukto-mona/message/48386

1. I would like to expand the quote from Gibran - "A truly religious person does not embrace any religion."------Dr. Jiten Roy.

Is the parallel statement "A truly aquatic animal does not live in water" logically tenable here? To me by refuting or negating all (organized) religions, Gibran himself is proposing another religion (his best work "The Prophet" talks prophetically about all vital aspects of human life and society, and the book itself is inspired by the founder of the Bahai faithand naturally expecting followers to rally around his religious ideas, although I am not aware of any religious movement that is aimed at promoting his religious views even after his death in 1931 at the age 48. That's a good news. Already we have too many religions and cults

2. The people who do not belong to any religion are the so called "Communist."---Dr. Jiten Roy.

Not really. The group is lot bigger. Besides communists, secularists in western sense, atheists, and agnostics should also be included.

3. Expecting everybody to belong to all religions and the government to sponsor all religious festivities are too theoretical. What is doable is this: bring back secularism in the constitution and tame the political religionists, religious fundamentalists and fanatics
