Dear Mr. Chowdhury:
How do you even measure patriotism. Its is so subjective. I dont think any one will ever willfully admit that they are unpatriotic. And how does one even verify the claims. the one who shouts the loudest or has it painted on his forehead.
One person's patriot might be another person's traitor. Second with the misuse of the word I thinks its best to stay away from patriotism. Frankly, I would rather not deal with some of our loud mouth self proclaimed patriots.
I think it would serve us better to remember Dr. Samuel Johson's comment, that "Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel".

If one party goes to power, other party like to burn things down to the knee and avoid anything either good or bad since they are opposition parties and or people. This has become a norm in Bangladesh with violent attitude and affecting national unity on national issues like poverty, job creation, gas exploration, new technology, and economic development activities. We also see opposition parties in every country in the world but they are united for national issues.
