Dear Chakrabarty Dada,
I am quite aware of the language trap which is one you have
picked up. Your generous personal generosity is needed to appreciate my views.
Taslima Nasreen has definitely crossed some barriers but time will make her
pragmatic. I am convinced that without a firm notion of idealism you can't make
a following. I do not compromise on that to jeopardise our very basics of any
social revolution. As humble human beings and as persons who has a total faith
on the future of the mankind, you and me and millions of others are obliged to
approve a minimum standard of morality as we all do in our personal lives.
Morality is not a matter of convenience. This principle becomes imperative for
any one who wants to become a vehicle to social changes. Voltaire was a great
man but we can't overlook his faults and if we do that we are not assessing a
very resourceful life. While writing on the mysterious vagaries of life we can't
say Hamlet did not do injustices to his sweet heart Ophelia. There Hamlet or
Voltaire stand firm as examples with virtues, faults and pain.
