[ALOCHONA] Bangladesh improves in corruption index - now 10th!

Bangladesh improves in corruption index, ranks 10th
Daily Star Online Report 23/9/08

Bangladesh this year improved in corruption index ranking 10th, according to the Transparency International (TI) Corruption Perception Index (CPI) report-2008.

The report was published today and Bangladesh came 10th from below scoring 2.1.

The TI Corruption Perception Index ranks countries in terms of the degree to which corruption is perceived to exist among public officials and politicians. It is a composite index, a poll of polls, drawing on corruption-related data from expert and business surveys carried out by a variety of independent and reputable institutions, including newspapers.

The CPI reflects views from around the world, including those of experts who are living in the countries evaluated.

Last year, Bangladesh came 7th with a score of 2.
