[ALOCHONA] Re: 3 varsity teachers among 11 militants held

Dear Alochoks

If you look closely at these activists you will find them to be
intelligent, educated, financially independent and from good
families. The real ring leaders will not have been born in Bangladesh
but born in the UK, France, Germany etc. They have a single mission -
the reinstatement of the Khilafah from Turkey to Malaysia. They have
been sent to Bangladesh as part of this 'global mission'. These
activists have also been trained to be skilled in close combat. They
are also trained to deal with adversity and challenges. Being picked
up by the Deshi police is like drinking a glass of water for them.
They are dangerous. I remember a decade ago attending a semina inthe
House of Lords on 'democracy in Bangladesh'. The entire evening was
hijacked by an activist from this group who spoke for an hour non
stop about democracy being an evil forced upon the ummah. He ruined
the program. They also ruined seminars at SOAS. Of late this group
has lost its leader - the infamous Omar Bokhri Mohammed. He left this
group as it was 'not radical enough' and set up another outfit called
the Al Mujahiroun. I remember watching Omar speak at a seminar on
Bosnia at the LSE - he has a magical ability to indoctrinate and
mesmerise. These same skills are passed on to activists. These
activists in angladesh will effortlessly radicalise dozens of
intelligent young men. This group - and all similar extremists -
should be banned outright. Bangladesh ahs yet to prove its own
credentials in the war on terror.

The absence of moral leaderrship in centre politics drives some
people to extremes. It is this vacuum that is exploited by radicals
in predominantly Muslim countries.

On the other hand watching Hasina and Khaleda tear each others hair
out decade after decade will probably radicalise me in the end!
