Once a study was made in the State of Maharashtra, in the British Period, on
what Castes were serving which jobs. The researchers were surprised to find
out that the Chitpaban Brahmins(Highest subcaste among the Brahmins in the
State) did most of the lowest cadre of odd jobs. Now, if one believes in
what is written in Geeta, one would conclude that they belonged to the
lowest class.
The idea of compensation is unpracticeable. If every barkandaj demands
compensation calculated on the salary of a General, the ensuing chaos would
be unthinkable. There is nothing called injustice in history. Society is a
juggernaut, pulled by teeming millions, and the cream is consumed by
privileged few. Nothing is more wrong than the concept that all men are
born equal. Nothing, however, is said about women. Egalitarian societies
have created even more unequal species. Please study George Orwell to get a
flavour of it.
