They are lying in rows after rows under various names, of so many ages, covered in many shades of emotions, some of grief, some with resignations and some with longings. But they all have one thing in common, they all are silent. Many people do have reservations about visiting a cemetery but I occasionally stroll around the graveyards just to discover the relationship between life and death. The distance between life and death is not very far, it's just a breath away. A few weeks before I went to visit a cemetery close to one of my friend's house. The reason was obvious, my friend has cancer. As Tagore wrote in his famous poem, "Wont let you go' the oldest cry of the humanity they does not want to part with their loved ones but still they have to. The very name of death instils fear in our minds and we all try to distance ourselves from this definite conclusion of life. In that cemetery I walked through hundreds of old and new graves and tried to read the epitaphs. I stopped at a grave where a five years old girl is buried who died in the spring of 1827. Mom and dad wrote these lines for their dear daughter." She was sent to us from the heaves but God could not live without her". I cried for few moments, sat there for sometime and tried to paint a face of that sweet girl in my mind.

I find nature has a unique way of working. It brings a roaring life to an end to start a new one. Happiness defeats pain and the cycle of life go no. We may question which reality is close to our hearts? I find it's our life not death. But death has its own place in our lives but it does not deter our determinations to have a full life. On the other hand life and death is essential to maintain the health of our nature.
