RE: [ALOCHONA] Mina Farah burnt his muslim rojader son insted of burried , a humble question to "sushil'n HR groups

Dear all:

To a Muslim, taking care of their dead is a big deal, a collective duty and an obligation (Fard). Taking care means: an Islamic burial.

No one can force an individual not to choose to be burnt. But when it comes to a dead individual the responsibility is on the shoulder of the community. To a believer, the family is the believing community and not the non-believing biological family.

How to prevent this extremely tragic thing to happen in the future and implement this essential requirement? If one has non-believing spouse, have not raised believing children or does not mix with the local Muslim community then he/she must make a 'will' and spell it out  clearly the need to be buried according to the Islamic Law. The US law will protect the rights of the dead and override the whims of the biological family.

Question to the respective community: How could they let this happen?

I followed the sad news and agree with Mr. Raheem to treat this as a family matter (which it is). The family must be going through a very difficult period of time in their life, we as fellow Bangladeshi should try to help them in their time of need instead of making it any more difficult.

Dear Mr. Aminul Islam,

I am aware of this tragic incidence in New York. It is further saddening that as a parent, she might have made a decision that seems contrary to her sons' wishes. But this is a family matter and as a mother/father, they have a greater right to decide these things. It is unfortunate but it is the way it is. I am sure this must have been a complicated and difficult decision for Mina Fara and her husband. We may not even know the entire story.

Protesting will not bring the departed back and nor can it reverse the funeral arrangements.
Rather, let us give the parents an opportunity to grieve and not politicize this tragic matter.
