Mr. Chowdhury, I beg to differ with you that what I wrote, or the postings of Mr. Raheem and Ratri, were illogical in any way. No rule of law says that you cannot cremate your children or yourself. Just because the young man has been a following the Islamic path, doesn't mean you know his wishes or the family's wishes. No, it is not "clearly has provided his wishes before he died by various activities"!! You are assuming that you know and attempting to interpret in an illogical way. All I am saying is, don't assume such things and leave her private matters to her and her family. I am not sure what has being a Hindu or Muslim or of any faith has anything to do with her privacy.
You know, I have one theory...and this is only a theory. The most Bengali mosques in NYC are run by ultra-conservative, orthodox mullahs who have never liked Mina Farah and the liberals who expose them. (remember the child molestation incident at the mosque?) So, my theory says that when Dr. Farah's son passed away, these imams and mollahs refused his last prayer. As far as I know Dr. Farah, she is not the kind who would take a beating lying down (and which is precisely I respect her tenacity). I won't be surprised if Dr. Farah then turned to her former religion and decide to cremate his son. I know she hates those mollahs who, for the longest period, have said everything between heaven and earth about her and her family. If it was my son, and the only option I had was these pedophile, sexist, mollahs, I wouldn't want my son's last ritual to be run by these people.
This is not a "human rights" question. The point is, what she is did is her problem, and not yours or mine or anyone elses. It is not a national crisis, as everyone is making it sound like. Where is the outrage when someone beats up his wife and leaves her for dead? Where is the outrage when Hindu temples are burned down, and their families are beaten up? Where does your "human rights" sentiment go when aboriginal Bangladeshis are systematically discriminated against?
Really...people need to get their priorities straight!!

Hi Cyrus, you are telling very ilogical way. You are obeying laws, rules & regulations of the society where you are living. Isn't true? The boy has clearly proved his wishes before his died by various activities. No one, even his parent has no right to alter his wishes. Mina Farah is an extrimist Hindu in the name of a Muslim had done crime against her son's will, so she must be punished. Thank you for your better understadnig.
