Exactly, the liberation war of 1971 was not against any religion,
but it was definitely against Muslim Communalism and 'injustice'
being perpetrated in the name of Islam.
Did not your party Jamate Islami took a stand in 1971 against the
liberation war? Against the war being fought against 'injustice'? Do
you admit that your party was engaged in crime against humanity by
supporting rape, arson and genocide? Do you admit that by opposing
the war being fought against 'injustice' Jamate Islami and few
Islamic parties in fact took side with 'injustice' and by doing so
they had done great disservice to even 'Islamic concept of justice'.
Do you agree that for doing so they should face trial and punishment
according to law for committing crime against humanity?
When the Islamists of Bangladesh will be wise? Are they not
confusing 'Jihad" with 'Fidai' at the same time trying to
justify 'Fidai' is righteous against unarmed innocent people?
Lalan is Lalan. He has given his own answer about his religious
belief. Does not he have the freedom to choose his religion? Lalan
is a symbol of protest against discrimination of human beings in the
name of any religion. He is thus definitely a symbol for which
Bangladesh stands. He was not idol worshipper himself and neither
who were erecting his statue are idol worshippers, so why his
symbol, his statue will have to be removed.
The Islamists who have removed his statue are in fact vowed against
Lalon's philosophy of nondiscrimination on religious ground. Do you
mean to say this is the 'wisdom' Islamists are showing in
Bangladesh?
