I as a moderate Muslim would like to see the Bawool sculptures installed back to its original location, however, I am not sure how to respond to your posting. Your following statements are so disparaging, insulting and offensive that only a bigot can say. If you think “Islamists” are extremist and they should all be exterminated or uprooted then that makes you even a bigger extremist. You have to be very angry and out control to make such statements. My friend, when you are angry you cannot/should not argue. Because that will lead to feast fighting or worse, may be, killing. I don’t think you want that. When you take “an eye for an eye” you both will be without eyes.

My response:
In this case what does a Muslim person’s not eating pork has anything to do with bawool sculpture? As a Muslim I know exactly why pork is prohibited and I am sure a Hindu person exactly knows why they don’t eat beef. In your argument Muslims are uncivilized because they don’t eat pork. My friend, I have news for you. Many of your big Lords, i.e., the so called civilized people in the West also do not eat pork. I have asked them the same question, why do some civilized persons in the west do not eat pork? Their answer “It’s not a clean enough animal for human consumption.” So don’t act like a blind puppet of your civilized lords. Get some knowledge and wisdom wherever you can find them.

So in your judgment, all Islamists (Muslims included) are dirty because they don’t eat pork. If you want to eat pork or a puppy go ahead, but do not judge others because they don’t do what you do. Same could be said of the Hindus who do not eat cows and that does not make them inferiors to Muslims.
This is an irony; my friend, you have called all Muslims “uncivilized people” through an email that is devoid of any civility.
Bottom line: Hostility begets hostility and courtesy begets courtesy. With all our differences this world could still be a peaceful place if we are committed to it.

I think the "World Bank" has given enough money to erect as many statues as needed to decorate the "Bangla Ma'taa" with marbles. One can ask the robbers, who took away enough gold from the Jewelries, to cover the marbles with gold. After all, we must protect human rights, and rights of sculpture-culture as part of the non-communal character of the Sona'r Bangla. Models, statues, idols, and the worshipping of Sheeb, Durga, Krishna, Radha, Kaali, are the integral part of our spiritual heritage and Bangla cultural values, without which the life of the Bangal is meaningless.
We must do everything possible to subdue the foreign-made enemies called Islamists who do not have any sense of art, beauty, decency, and respect for the divine honor of the sculptured gods and goddesses. These rubbish people have already made the civilized world stinking and tarnished. Peer, Fakeer, Awool, Bawool, are the essence of culturally rich world of the geniuses who are like gods. How the ignorant uncultured sand-naggers and heinous Mowlubadees will acknowledge the value of the fine arts such as music, sculptures, poetry, paintings, songs, dances, as well as purity & cleanliness of nudity? We must do everything possible to establish the truth of divinity and spiritual existence of man who from time to time appears in the form of gods, dead or alive, that deserve our fervently worshiping. Especially, spiritual Sufis like Lalon Shah who is upholding the humanity and human values by shunning the separation of religions, as miscreated by the indigents, bringing together all human beings under his sublime spiritual umbrella, should invariably be worshipped as being practiced at his holy tomb in Kushtia. Without this action, man will again fall in the quagmire of Islam and communalism.

well I believe it was the right thing to do. U don't have to be un-religious or lose your affinity to your religion simply in the name of loving all the ppl. U can be a lover of all humanity of u stick to the code of ur own religion. No religion tells u to hate other faiths. The fanatics and bigots tarnish the image of the religions. Imagine how ashamed Sheikh Mijub would have been at the notion of so many politicians throwing abuses at each other simply in the name of loving the nation more.

The Roads and Highways Department (RHD) and Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) were forced to remove five sculptures of Bauls (folk singers) including Lalon Shah in front of the Zia International Airport in the face of protests from an Islamist group.
Sculptor Mrinal Haque told reporters that almost 50 percent task of the Tk 1crore project had been finished at a cost of around Tk 50 lakh.
Two of the five sculptures had been removed by yesterday evening while the rest was to be removed by midnight, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Airport Police Station Sirajul Islam told the Daily Star.
He said the erection of the sculptures began about a month ago.
Earlier, Murti Protirodh Committee (Sculpture Prevention Committee) led by Khatme Nabuat Chairman Mufti Nur Hossain Nurani gave an ultimatum of 24 hours for removal of the sculptures.
Witnesses said around 2,000 people gathered in the area when the task of removing the sculptures began at about 11:00am.
The OC quoting the committee leaders said they do not want any sculptures in the airport area where the hajj camp is located.
