Dear Alochocks!
What does it really mean to go back to 1972 constitution? I hope its not BAKSHAL all over again.
I am very skeptical, however, I will give the benefit of the doubt that AL will establish the rule of law as best as the situation permits. Thinking in the same light as Dr. Omar, can we expect the same justice for those AL thugs and goons who stole Billions of dollars and killed unaccounted numbers of political opponents in the name of maintain law and order. We must not forget that "justice is blind" and what's good for the goose should be good for the gander as well. Otherwise, we will slide back to those dark days of "BAKSHAL", which I clearly remember from my days at Rajshahi Engineering College in 1974 as a young man.
Although history repeats itself, I would like to see that current AL administration can prove it wrong. I am just back from Bangladesh and I witnessed election process first-hand. Therefore, despite BNP and Jamat claims of corruption and wrongdoing I think it was the most fair election Bangladesh had in a long time since the independence.
Right now I am however worried about the extra judicial killings of opposition party workers. Hasina should address this critical issue immediately otherwise the country will slide into lawlessness and chaos.
