Resorting to ad hominem or "personal attacks" to avoid the truth has not worked very well in the past. These attacks are poor 'lebas' or cover-ups of 'al-Haqqa' the Truth to serve ill intention (bil baTili).
No matter how much you shout at me, I am not responsible for YOUR ignorance. You should bear that responsibility yourself. No one subscribes to your cockamamie definition of 'secularism'. The sooner you find that out the better.
You and the Jamaatis have no basis for claiming that you are better than any of us as Muslims or followers of the faith of Islam.
If you insist that you are a better Muslim than me then that geture of hubris, according to the 'mithla' in the Holy Qur'an, makes you a follower of Iblis who said of Adam -- 'ana khairun minhu' or 'I am better than him' when he openly disobeyed Allah's explicit order to do 'sajada' to Adam.
Muslim Bengal has a glorious history! It was the shining gem, the most 'beautiful' and lushly cultivated land in the whole of Dar-ul-Islam, according to the Moroccan world-traveller, Ibn Batuta who visited Bengal in 1345 AD.
Religion was part of political power-jostling in Christian Europe. By the Renaissance time and splitting of the Church, religion became the top politics for entire Europe. For a modern model of State Religion you have to look at Nazi Germany and Austria in the 1938-39. You will never find the like of it in Muslim India which was wonderfully secular. Study the administrative policies of the Moghuls and you will find out why there had never been a communal riot and how and why the Hindus, Muslims, Christians and all others lived side by side without cutting each other's throat.
It is most fitting that Bangladesh be a secular country by its Constitution. No ifs or buts.
May Allah deliver you from the curse of your self-imposed blindeness.

In the thousand year of Muslim rule in India Shariah ( Islamic law ) was the basis of state and law and Qazis or judges used to judge according to this law.This is much more than state religion which is a softer way of a state showing allegiance to Islam .
Secularism ( I call it in Bangla " Dharma Barjan Bad ") she does not understand at all and it was never integral to our life or system.

S. A. Hannan (and the whole Jamaati lot) is the embodiment of the Western-style 20th century Fascism. State religion is a typically IMPORTED idea from the white Christian Europe. So is the idea of a 'State language' over which Pakistan made a such a fuss and we got terribly sentimental about Bangla as an 'endangered' language! Bangla is the fifth biggest language in the world and Bangladesh is the 7th most populous country! These days the Jamaatis are claiming that Islam is an endangered religion and they are the ONLY saviours of the 'deen' in Bangladesh.

Secularism is an integral part of our own history, culture and civilization. The idea of a State Religion is totally foreign, and a trick of evil-intentioned anti-human politics.
We, Bengalis never had a State Religion in all the 800 years of Muslim rule of Bengal.
Hannan's trumpeting of the "religion of the majority" is based on the British colonialists' computing of people of Bengal (in 1872 census) by their professed faith. It was a bogus census with evil imperialist intention of controlling people and looting the wealth of Bengal as a colony.
It is time to DISCARD this colonial basis of classifying general citizenry by their religion.
Please folks! We have suffered enough! It is time we all wake up to the dangers of these 20th century FASCISTS engulfing the hopes and dreams of our 21st century.
