Re: [mukto-mona] Allama "Mashriqi’s role eulogized"

Yes, this is a serious point. The communal hatred was first brought into the Indian society by the higher caste Hindus through their discriminatory practices towards Muslims and the lower caste Hindus, which ultimately divided India. In fact, Pakistan may not be created without the support of the lower caste Hindus.

As you know, the birth of Pakistan has broken so many families and communities apart. Pakistani administrations knew that, and they also knew that - they will need high level of communal hatred against India to keep those families and communities apart.  As a result, they have been brainwashing their people to keep communality alive in Pakistan. If the level of hatred is reduced someday, those countries (Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan) may become confederate states.

My observation is that - Hindu-Muslims hatred, in the Indo-Pak-Bangladesh subcontinent, is now much more prominent than that of the undivided India. But, the level of hatred between Hindus and non-Muslims (Sikh, Buddhists, Christians, Jews, etc.) did not change as much from the undivided Indian period. These facts lend support for my point of view.

In fact, the Israel and Palestinian story is similar. A sovereign Palestinian state, created  through communality,  will not bring peace in that region also. The hatred and suffering will keep rising. Permanent peace cannot be attained through hatred. The best option, therefore, is amicable confederation also.

Can we then say that the "birth defect of Pakistan" has affected the entire subcontinent? It has spared none--neither a Muslim nor a Hindu--can we say that? It is a serious question. Honest and bold answer is a prerequisite for the  communal harmony and prosperity of the subcontinental countries.

When I look at South-East Asian Muslim majority countries like Indonesia and Malyasia, I don't see as much communality as I find in the Indo-Bangladesh-Pakistan subcontinent.  I think that - this must be due to the birth-defect of Pakistan. Pakistan was created based on communality, and the very existence of this country depended on the communality. Unfortunately, Bangladeshis had to inherit that creed during the Pakistani regime. It will take a long time to get rid of that mindset. I know younger generations in Bangladesh are much more secular than their parents; that's a good thing.

But, for Pakistan there is no light in the horizon; it's still dwelling in the darkness. I hope Allama Mashriqi's  vision will give tem the much needed light.

(Pakistan Observer, a daily from Islamabad, dated April 09, 2012. Scholar & historian Nasim Yousaf views published)

Mashriqi's role eulogized

Nazir Siyal

Larkana—Khaksar Tehreek, Chief Allama Mashriqi played a major role in bringing freedom to the Indian of sub-continent and served his nation with the utmost devotion and in return sought no monetary gains or public office.

While expressing his views by an intellectual scholar and historian Nasim Yousaf has warned the people of sub-continent that they should learn the lessons from the mistakes of the past. He also repeated the words of Allama Mashriqi, ascertained the hidden truth about the indo-pak history. He stressed the people of sub-continent that remember, history is unforgiving to nations that mutilate their past.

He urged that wake-up and realizes why India was divided. Pakistan and India's history is written under the influence of the All-India Muslim League and the Indian National Congress respectively; it is nothing but a pack of utter lies he told.

The All-India Muslim League's slogans of Hindu domination and Islam in danger in a united India were not based in reality he said, added the Two-Nation Theory was publicized to spread communalism and to seek political agendas. Many people might be surprised to hear that the Muslim League's victory in the 1946 elections was on the crutches of the powerful Government bureaucracy he told.

He further said those of you who have not read history should know that partition brought miseries that are rarely seen in history and millions of innocent Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs were brutally slaughtered. My heart bleeds when I think of the suffering of helpless individuals and the females who, at the time of the partition of India, were ruthlessly raped he expressed.

They became victims of the confrontational and selfish politics of the All-India Muslim League and Indian National Congress. It is unfortunate that a holocaust of this magnitude continues to be dismissed for political reasons he said.
