It sounds like we have messed up again by not speaking the right language with the American bureaucratic machinery? Contacting local congressmen would be the best way to move forward.

Dear Nasim bhai,

Hope all is well.

I am requesting your kind attention, support, and prompt action on a matter of national interest for Bangladesh.
The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) is conducting a review of petitions submitted by a US Labor Organization called AFL-CIO to remove Bangladesh's quota of duty-free entry of certain products in the US market, which is a privilege known as the General System of Preferences (GSP).
USTR is currently seeking public comments on this matter, which provides us with a precious opportunity to express our concerns against the threat of removing GSP privileges for Bangladesh, and perhaps influence the decision in Bangladesh's favor. As you can probably imagine, such a drastic trade policy measure by the United States would cause a severe blow to the growing export potential of Bangladeshi products in the US market, and pose a serious branding problem for Bangladesh in the US and in other parts of the world - possibly leading to some irreversible damages in the country's garments sector.

We have until Jan 31, 2013, to submit opinions to USTR. The online submission link is as follows:

I urge you to submit comments, and also ask your friends/colleagues/community organizations in your area to submit comments to USTR in favor of retaining the GSP privileges for Bangladesh. I have attached a document with this email to provide more information about this issue. Please feel free to copy text from this document to prepare your comments for online submission. The document was prepared based on a recently published newspaper article written by the Bangladesh Embassador to the US (see link below):

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Thanking in advance for your time and support,
Sincerely -

Sudipta Sarkar
Houston, TX.
