[ALOCHONA] Travesty of Justice

During their last five year rule, BNP-Jamaat not only broke all the records in corruption, looting, nepotism and rampant politicization of every sector of the country, they also gave the word "Evil" a new meaning. In many major violent criminal cases, when their people or acquaintances were involved, they tried really hard to implicate the oppostion. In Aug 21, 2004 grenade attacks at Awami League meeting, which killed and wounded a lot of people, even after they received authentic information from Mufti Hannan, they tried to divert the whole scenario by creating stories like Joz Mia and arresting AL ward commissioner Haji Mukhles and torturing him in remand to confess a crime he was not even remotely involved. In Mymensingh Cinema Hall and Jessore Udichi bombings, they submitted charge sheet against Saber Hossain Chowdhury, Hassan Imam, Muntasir Mamun, and many other people affiliated with pro-independence groups. And now we have the following case.

I like to end with a true story which is about a 2001 pre-election deceptive ploy by none other than Badruddoza Chowdhury, now fallen from his Madam's grace. He and his son created a TV program to highlight and magnify AL era misrule. In one segment he played very dirty. He brought the Qu'ran and Gita to show the difference between BNP and AL. Holding the Qu'ran in right hand and the Gita in left, he asked the audience, "Whom would you vote for? The Qu'ran or the Gita?" And what did we get in return? When politics and religion come together, religion doesn't clean dirty politics; politics makes religion look dirty instead. __._,_.___
