Re: [ALOCHONA] About the trial of Warcriminals (a Jaijaidin article)

Wohid, you are missing the context here. In this context, "Rajakar", which literally means "collaborator", is synonymous to "War Criminals" in Bangladesh's context. I am quite sure that the Russians and the Chinese don't use the word "Rajakar" in their vocabulary. When I find out the exact word Russians and Chinese use to title their war collaborators, I would be happy to share that with you.

I have no problem with other people's reason. I can accept other people's reason, as long as they are also all-encompassing and accommodating of all views. And in case you are wondering, I did like the write-up. Well-written indeed. Just merely suggested that the author should have widened its search, that's all.

What I find troubling is that the definition of "War Criminals" that is being used narrowly in that article. In Bangladesh's context, war criminals are not only the Pakistani invaders, but also the collaborators who have committed crimes against the Bangladeshis during and after 1971. That's the context, and that is, sadly enough, is not emphasized in the article.

Is "Rajakar" synonym of "War Criminal" so that one has to search Rajakar to get list of War Criminals???? What if some Russians want to find Russian war criminals or Chinese want to find Chinese war criminals? Can they use the same word in the search engine to find their own war crinimals???? Reason is not reason at all if it does not favor me, right??? We should learn how to appreciate a good piece of write-up.... But I know we are bemused by parochialism that defeats other's reasoning. It's curious that the writer didn't find any reference to "war criminals" in Wikipedia!! First of all, Wikipedia is a self-generated, user-modifed encyclopedia that has known to carry faulty information. Secondly, I think the writer needs to expand his horizon in terms of searching in Wikipedia. I just ran several searches with "Rajakar", and Jamaat, Shibir, and a small list of known Rajakars came up within few seconds, including the detailed history of both parties and their nasty past.

Just my two cents.
