These are very reasonable questions. As I said Islam has become
a prisoner in the hands of the vested interests. The fear Muhammad used to
discipline the pagan Arabs 1500 years before, in this age of enlightenment this
fear factor has become a virtually impregnable wall between Islam and reason. It's
an impossible idea that this age old barrier can be demolished over night. You
can't explain the philosophical basis of religion to a person who firmly believes
that if he does not pray five times, read the Quran or perform hajj he/she is
not a religious person. As charity begins at home we need do some home work
rather than getting frustrated. It will be a great success for each of us if we
can sit with one person at a time and reason. The power of reason is omnipotent
as long as we have patience. It will take time but this is the only way.
The way you and me are talking with respect and
understanding same thing we can't expect from a mullah because he has a fixed
mind cemented by dogmas, fables and fear. In his brain there is one way
traffic. When we say that a truly religious man embraces no religion exactly what
we mean? Fighting with Islamic
extremists is a fight with wild animals. There is a huge gap between reason and
their barbarity. When thousands of innocent Iraqis and Afghanis are killed by
the Islamic terrorists they keep quite but a cartoon of Muhammad leads them to
suicide bombing. Are these people capable of preaching any religion?
