After India and Nigeria, Malaysia is the third largest example of multi-ethnic multi-religious democracy. Of late, it is capturing limelight of Indian politics because Malay Tamils are on protest against the Govt of Malaysia claiming wide scale discrimination against Hindus. So BJP and Tamil nationalist party lost no time to make it an issue and want India to pressurize Malaysian Govt. As per last news, India summoned Malay consulate general and conveyed the concern while Malaysian ministry warned and ridiculed India's intervention on this matter.
However, what's happening in Malaysia seems to be pretty common in other Muslim countries that Islam conquered over advanced civilization. Except for Indonesia, every where Islam tried to force Arab tribal culture on the ethic people--the history repeated in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Iran.
