My heart too bleeds with Mr. Akbar Hossain. I too curse myself for being alive to see the brutal homicide of human beings branded as Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Jews etc. This is sad, it is happening even at this era of instant communication. In the past, creating chaos and maintaining it, paid off heavy dividends to the Imperialists and Colonialists but this policy is not needed today except for war-industries which could be easily dismantled. Today, Bill Gates and his likes, are the new Messiahs for the mankind in the global village. They are more powerful than the Presidents and Nationalist Dictators who today seem to have lesser caliber and lower moral power and authority. They even fail to rise to the level of a servant in the UN system. Today if the leading Computer companies join hands to threaten the governments of those countries where communal killings occur, that they will not supply them any products or service, may be, they will listen. If India is faced with the fear of losing its e-business with Europe and USA, Modi will face the music in Gujrat.
Again, if we had a Confederation or a strong SARC, we could ban religion based political parties. I wish our great personalities like Amatya Sen, Prof. Yunus, Prof. Abul Kalam, Prof. Salam, Arundhuti Roy and the like could sit somewhere for a day, say at Grameen Bank at Dhaka, Jamat, Muslim League, BJP, Shivshenas and the like would start counting days.
