Dear Taif Ahmad,

I almost missed your reply, as I usually don't find there is much one
on one discussion on this list

Thank you for the response. The last thing I would ever do is
discourage you from asking questions and presenting your own point of
view. No matter what your point of view happens to be, even if it
differs radically from my own, I will listen to you and respect what
you have to say. I am not young but I value the opinions of youth and
many of my close friends are young persons. Actually I find the
youth, in Canada, to be more open and informed that many of my age
group.

If you get to know me, you will find that I have very strong
opinions, which are not often understood. So, if you felt
misunderstood by me, then I know how you feel.

I will ask some question in response to your post. This is in order
to establish some common ground for understanding.

Are you proud that people are leaving other faiths and flocking to
the Muslim faith?

Can you imagine a world where no child is schooled in religion?

Your question about the majority of the people of a country taking a
religion without being schooled in religion is a moot point. This is
because all people in the world have been schooled to believe in
religion of one kind or another, ever since there have been humans.
If I am a Catholic and convert to Islam or vice versa, I am just
looking for a better god, a god that suits my particular lifestyle.

The men who framed the US Constitution were treading on very thin
ice. It was a time when religion reigned supreme, when no one dared
question god. Do you imagine that they could have dumped god at that
time? God was everywhere. No one would have dared to say that they
believed god a was a figment the imagination of man. LOL we can
hardly do that today, for fear of getting our heads bashed in.
Putting god everywhere was insurance!

Anything can be constitutionally legal. Constitutions are agreed upon
by men. So, anything can be legal if you get the leaders to agree to
put it on paper. Now if you ask me if I like that idea... I don't.
Because legal is only legal as long as someone can keep the peace.

You are young, as you say. When you are reading something written in
a book, consider that that book was written from some person's point
of view and is not truth. We can learn something from everyone but
not everything from someone.

Looking forward to hearing from you again.

Audrey
