It's amusing that much of the rantings of Mr Guha's friend against-
who he calls "liberals" and "progressives"- also apply to Mr Guha,
probably, some of his comrades.
Guha's friend said, for example, draws analogy b/w the communists and
the militant Islamists in that-
1. "Communists (the so called Biplobi) believe in one principle - if
you cannot convince someone to accept your ideology then eliminate
him. Islamist Terrorists) also believe in the same principle."
--Although not a communist myself, I'd ask Mr Guha: What about your
own frenzied support for Bush, who, like extreme communists and
Islamists, also believe "Either you're with us, or you're against
us." How's Bush's doctrine here different than that of Al Qaeda?
2. Who, indeed, makes "instant decision about situations as they
present"? (I quoted Mr Guha's friend.)
3. Mr Guha's friend quoted radio talk-show host Michael Savage having said "Liberalism is a mental disorder."
--Are you, Mr Guha, also one of those haters of liberty, justice and freedom?
4. "Unmasking" hypocrites is a great job; but unmasking our own
selves is even greater.
As the saying goes: one should avoid throwing stones at others from a glass house.
