Words are powerful and I get paid to put them together. But words are
really only words. They have very little lasting impact, in my view.
Fear kills good intentions!
Are you absolutely certain that a speech calling for self-
determination is anything other than a run for power? I ask this
question because I don't have any idea of the answer. There are
always groups in any society that call for the breakup of the
society. We have power seekers in Quebec who want nothing less than
Quebec independence. Ordinary people go about their daily lives
oblivious to this until they are are swept up in a campaign with
powerful speeches. Then the win/lose scenario kicks in and reason
goes by the board.
I do not disagree with you on political philosophy. Theories really
seem meaningful unless one thinks of practical application.
