What could possibly be more detrimental to a nation than what is
happening now with subprime mortgages? Poor people were targeted by
the rich ( in the name of giving them the American Dream... a home)
and even people working two jobs can't meet their mortgage payments.
Add to that the buy up and break up of good solid companies for no
reason other than profit and there is one god awful mess happening
under our very noses.
It used to be that companies were created and jobs were provided.
That is no longer the case. Deregulation has sent good companies,
around the globe, to hell is hand basket. It is about buying and
selling equity that doesn't exist.
Ordinary working persons are unable to survive and it will get worse.
It is not about passing out welfare checks to poor people. The middle
class is affected and are just a paycheck away from welfare.
I sincerely hope that you never find yourself in need of a friendly
hand.
To think that WE should have to HELP the poor is what distresses me.
If all jobs were valued according to their benefit to society, there
would be no need for welfare.
We are all on welfare in one way or another. We need others in order
to make a living, no matter what we do. Socialism, Communism and
Capitalism are outdated words. There is no government anywhere that
reflects such philosophies.
