Melamine issue in different kind of milk brand, popular with nourishing mothers and housewives, still give us no respite from the fear of consuming melamine or from policy makers dubious actions on the matter.
Our media, used to find all wrong with our politicians and their so called 'syndicate' only couple of years back. Whom would they blame now for forcing people to consume such products, labels of those do not speak the truth.
Corporate crime supported by bad politics putting thousands of our infant's health in short and long term risk. What kind of health these babies would grow with, may be after a month when most of the merchandise of milk powder is sold off from the shelves, WHO's report is only expected to quit from the idea.
Big corporation control the media (through advertisement, hundreds of models, technicians, film directors, actors who are engaged in making their ad and those channels and newspapers take them to the public) and same media can not do anything that would bite their source of billions of taka.
What is more appalling, what appears as a concerted effort that is meticulously and systematically instituted to suppress and undermine our own institutions. Now think, if WHO's report comes as 'negative', what people would think of Dhaka University and it's Chemistry Lab. Who knows what kind of samples were given to WHO at the first place. To upheld our institution and built confidence the policy makers could have asked for another test from the same lab. Rather, for this occasion too, they opt for foreign land, foreign technicians and a foreign report to evaluate our own matter.
Don't you think it is the same pattern that is chasing our all institutions. For a simple ailment people running to Singapore, Bangkok, London or Washington, like the bureaucracy, big (patriotic) leaders are leading the way to undermine our doctor's abilities.
I am also shocked people and bloggers who came out loud on some other issues that relates to culture and politics remain care-less to such an issue that deals with our life and death, ours and our innocent children.
