The Election Commision called for objections against registration of
parties. Several organisations rose to this. However, not
surprisingly, they registered Jamaat without a hearing. Why?
possible answers:
1. Everything has been a show up to now and so will be the election.
2. They did not really expect such a response and really did not want
to deal with objections. It would just complicate and delay affairs.
3. Pressure from abroad.
4. They wanted to see first hand what evidence could be brought up in
any future war crimes trial... and let Jamaat have time to prepare
destroy the evidence.
