So Ramayan returns once again! When previously aired, nearly 20 years back, the series managed to achieve record viewing figures and created a hysterical following. The 'bloodbath' in stock market last week left many hapless investors shocked and stunned. Some SMS jokes, however, brought smile on their weary faces. What they have done to Indian Economy, we have to assess it. The middle class Boom has to be depleted as soon as the US Economy banking on War Mechanism collapses. We have seen the trilor only! The worst thing is yet to come that the ruling hegemony would not hesitate to opt for Japanese once the US Dominance days over which is bound to happen, Just track the history of Imperialism!

The Polity is run by the Brahminical Hindutva with its so many hypocritc ideologis, banners and falgs. The Economy is controlled by the them. Despite all this nonsense the mainstream society remains right there in the bases of majority Indigenous People. Maryada Purshottam ram is invoked for another reincarnation to destroy those indigenous bases!

We may remeber all the incidents in eightis! Ram Janma Bhoomi Andolan, Opening the ayodhya Temple, Operation Blue star, Demise of the most powerful lady in Third World Geopolitics Indira Gandhi, Anti Sikh Riots of 1984, RSS allying with Rajiv Gandhi to Demolition of Babri! We may visulise the return of Hindutva as we have seen the reality in reincarnation of Atal Bihari vajpayee as NDA Prime Minister. Everything changes accordingly. The slogans, ideologies, votebank equations, social engineering, banners, flags.. everything! But we have seen no devition from the High Way of Capitalist Ways of Development since Dr Manmohan Singh was planted by Washington as the Finance Minister of India in Nara simha rao Government. Neo liberalism, FDI, Corpotarisation, disinvestment, LPG, VRS, ERS, privatisation continue. In fact, second phase of neoliberal Sensex Shining India begins with SEZ, NUclear Energy, Strategic Regrouping, Pcpir, Chemical Hubs, MIR, Retail chain, eetc. In fact, it has been same under the infinite brahminical rule in India. Brahmins ruled despite Mughal ruled India. They ruled during British empire. They Rule in Mayawati Empire and in Keral as well as West Bengal. Globalisation made Hindutva Global. What Hitler could not do, Zionists have succeeded to accomplish. Realliance of the forces of ruling hegemony. Thus, Hindu, zionist and white ruling classes ally with US Corporate War Economy Manusmriti Imperialism Post Modern.

Everything Indigenous has to be destroyed without any mercy as the Global ruling Hegemony want to capture all the resources of the Galaxy. space dominance is complete. War against Terrorism launched to justify War, Civil War, Interferences, subversion of sovereignity and Freedom, violation of Human and civil rights! Only the forces of Market rule this galaxy. The Indigenous Masses deprived of Citizenship, Vitims of untouchability, Caste system, Apartheid, graded inequality and inherent injustice, deprived of production system and cultural physical roots, displaced, massacred, stripped of Human Rights and Civil Rights as well have no right to survive in this antipeople global economy!

We have noticed how Pranab mukherjee got Padm Bibhushan! The de facto Prime Minister. The butcher of Constitution! The man behind the strategic regrouping and colonisation of India! No one in Indian politics doubts political acumen of veteran Congress leader and External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, who has proved to be the most successful trouble shooter of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh ever since the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) came to power. How the West Bengal Brahmins dealt with Nandigram, Singur, Taslima Nasrin, rizwan and nandram Market, Ration riots, Bird Flu and Maoism, we know every bit of it. In West Bengal opposition is a dead failure thanks to personalities like Mamta Bannerjee, Ajit Panja, Tathagat Roy and somen Mitra. Pranab leads them way ahead. He is the best Comrador in this part of the World who have been a vital lead for the Brahmnical Hegemony no less than four decades! If the Padm Bibhushan recognises the services for defending the interests of the Ruling Hegemony, no doubt, Pranab remains the best choice. He should have been the BHarat Ratna it they hesitated to chose Ratan tata for his Nano! However, the canny politician has adopted a new method to win friends, if not influence people, from among the UPA allies and the government's outside supporters.

We know how the media is fed by FDI. Here you are. We know well the girl who covered Kargil War and later iconised in LOC. She happens to be a boss of a prime Channel propeople. She all of a sudden decides to censor the Blogs of its TV Home Page. Now, the blogs are moderated there. All unwanted discussions stopped forever. She has shown the way. She is considered to be the best anchor in this country. And she what she anchors, whom she calls! She is a Padmshree now along with Rajdeep sardesai and Vinod Dua. We know all these faces of shining India. We also know the media persons turned as politicians, MPs, BCCI officials and ministers! It is full circle anarchy managed so well and this ruling hegemony consists of Money, mafia and Media!

Thus, Ramayn retuns on TV. We have to gear for a new hindutva Era as neither we have overcome the Ayodhya Controversy nor the ram setu one. The Hindutva is roaring Global and it has got its well established Icons in every sphere of life. They enslaved eighty five percent population.

They enacted Manusmriti. they deprived the enslaved people of knowledge and divided them into more than Six Hundred castes. Now the deprive us of Information. They uproot us from life and livelihood. they have made all the third world countries Free hunting Grounds! They created Foreign territories as SEZ and PCIPR. They handed over entire production systema and Economy to multi national corporates. Resrvation made irrelevant. So they try to kill the Constitution of India!

Starting from January 21, 2008, NDTV Imagine will present 'Ramayan' – a brand new television series based on Valmiki's Ramayan and Tulsidas' Ramcharitmanas.  Produced by Sagar Arts, the family that introduced mythologies on television, this age old classic is retold with grand sets, new star cast and lilting music.  The all-new 'Ramayan' will be aired every Monday to Thursday at 9:30 pm only on NDTV Imagine.

The enthralling production values and fresh approach to the storytelling gives the new 'Ramayan' an appeal that will entertain and delight viewers across all age groups. The entire production is being executed at Sagar Film City in Baroda where grand sets have been erected to depict key areas in the kingdom of Ayodhya, the birth place of Lord Ram. This new version has the advantage of being produced in times of huge technical advancements which will greatly enhance the story telling in a compelling new way.

Announcing the launch of the show, Mr. Sameer Nair, CEO, NDTV Imagine, said, "'Ramayan' is a tale for every generation. It is multi-layered, multi-faceted, multi-dimensional... and this brand new daily version of the timeless classic has been interpreted to cater to the taste of a shining, modern India.. Television is all about great stories well told, and for us, 'Ramayan' is India's greatest story ever and we hope to re-tell it in a compelling, entertaining manner."

Some of the country's best talents are associated with the show:  The music of 'Ramayan' has been composed by Ravindra Jain and the extravagant sets have been designed by renowned art director Omang Kumar. Celebrated designer Nisha Sagar has created the costumes and accessories and  Kavita Krishnamurthy and Suresh Wadkar have lent their voices for the title track.

Twenty years ago, our revered father Dr. Ramanand Sagar created a revolution through a blockbuster show.  Now, we… the second and third generation hope to recreate the same magic".

Adds Mr. Nair, "'Ramayan' has a huge connect with audiences across the country and has all the elements that will deliver on our promise to entertain and delight. The Sagar's are powerful storytellers and the final word in creating mythological epics for television and we believe that our partnership has the potential to make 'Ramayan' a show that the whole family will watch together every evening.."

Emulate Modi; Rajnath tells BJP CMs
New Delhi (PTI): Narendra Modi left BJP chief Rajnath Singh spellbound as he sold 'brand Modi' at the party National Executive meeting here on Sunday.

Singh, who had dropped Modi from the Parliamentary Board almost a year ago, yesterday sang peans for the Gujarat Chief Minister, who was the star at the day-long meeting.

He even went to the extent of asking other party Chief Ministers to emulate Modi and retain power in their respective states to pass the 'agni-pariksha' (trial by fire).

Singh's praise of Modi is virtually seen as an acceptance of Modi's growing stature in the party, much to the chagrin of second rung leaders.

"The victory of Gujarat has silenced all our opponents," Singh told the party's National Executive here.

He said the victory has sent a positive message with regard to the BJP's ideological commitment and our ability in the field of development.

"We have shattered the myth in Gujarat that BJP government cannot return to power twice or thrice. Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and Rajasthan should also try to repeat this kind of success," he said.

Singh noted that in 2007 the party snatched Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Uttarakahand from the Congress kitty.

"At the same time in Gujarat, we maintained our government in a prestigious contest," he noted.

Modi also drew a standing ovation for several minutes when he was called to the dais at the Executive.

Incidentally, Modi does not figure in the high-level team constituted by Singh to oversee the party's preparations for the elections in states this year and to Lok Sabha in early 2009.

Despite his well-publicised projection as the NDA's prime minister in waiting, Bharatiya Janata Party leader L K Advani is spending sleepless nights. Grapevine has it that these days he is haunted by the prospect of former vice-president Bhairon Singh Shekhawat returning to politics.
After successfully blocking any chances of an Atal Bihari Vajpayee come back by publicly proposing his name for Bharat Ratna, Advani generously agreed to keep him as the chairperson of the NDA primarily to keep Shekhawat out. When the Shekhawat camp wanted former vice-president to be appointed NDA convener to replace an ailing George Fernandes, the Advani group blocked the move on the plea that the job was reserved for a non-BJP constituent of the BJP.

Despite these pre-emptive measures, Advani is not leaving anything to chance. He spent a few days in the holy city of Rishikesh this week to propitiate the gods and his supporters are organising a yagna in Ujjain to seek divine help to bolster their mentor's political future.

India celebrates 59th Republic Day

NDTV Correspondent
Saturday, January 26, 2008 (New Delhi)
India is celebrating the 59th Republic Day with vibrant display of its military prowess woven with cultural diversity amidst heavy security cover.

To mark the importance of the occasion, a grand parade was held in the capital, from the Raisina Hill near the Rashtrapati Bhawan to the historic Red Fort.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy was the Chief Guest at this year's parade. He's on a two-day visit to India, during which several agreements between India and France have been signed. They include pacts on defence and civil nuclear cooperation, transfer of technology trade and education.

The different regiments of the Army, Navy and the Air Force participated in the parade in all their finery and official decorations.

President of India, Pratibha Patil became the first woman President of the country to take guard of honour.

The parade also included vibrant displays and floats and traditionally ends with a fly past by India Air Force jets.

In the wake of intelligence warning about possible terror strikes all intelligence agencies were on high alert.

Delhi was made a no-fly zone during the Republic Day parade, and public transport services including the Delhi metro train service were suspended till 1.30 pm. Around 20,000 security personnel were deployed across the capital while commandoes of the ITBP and Delhi Police took positions at strategic locations.

Opposition resistance to industrialisation a failure: Somnath
Kolkata (PTI): Opposition resistance to industrialisation in West Bengal has proved to be a failure as it was not backed by any alternative suggestion which the people could bank on, Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee said on Sunday.

Taking a dig at the Opposition, Chatterjee said despite its movement against industrialisation, the state government had forged ahead with rapid pace helped by huge investments from within the country and abroad.

He was speaking at the closing function of the 21st Industrial India Trade Fair organised by Bengal National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and state government.

Chatterjee said though the state's industrial policy was announced in 1994 during the Jyoti Basu regime, the Left Front government had been able to bring in a massive transformation only recently after overcoming Opposition resistance.

Lauding the state's aspiration for becoming the leader in industrialisation, Chatterjee said the state had tremendous potential for development and generate employment opportunity.

"A large number of SEZs have developed in the western part of the country. We need at least some to showcase our potential," he said.

Citing examples that even some small south Asian countries could progress in rapid pace, India could chase the growth rate achieved by the Chinese.

Kidney racket kingpin eludes arrest

http://www.ndtv.com/convergence/ndtv/national.aspx
Sakshi Talwar, Sidharth Pandey
Monday, January 28, 2008 (Gurgaon)
One more person has been arrested in the multi-crore kidney scam. The driver of Dr Upender, the doctor who was hand in glove with the kingpin Dr Amit Kumar, was nabbed from Palwal in Haryana.

Dr Amit, the mastermind is still on the run and the police have applied for a red corner notice against him. The police are conducting raids at Dr Kumar's properties across the country. Dr Amit Kumar owns six properties in Gurgaon.

The kidney racket and the mastermind behind it have been making headlines ever since it was exposed.

But the real focus is on those 500 odd labourers who were cheated into giving up their kidneys.

It was one of these men whose complaint made it possible to pinpoint the racket. But for him and many others, it is meant the loss of livelihood as well as health.

The complaint from Pappu, the labourer from Meerut helped in exposing the kidney racket operating in Gurgaon for the past seven years.

Fourty-year-old Pappu said that he came to Gurgaon from Meerut two years ago, looking for a job. But claims one of his kidneys was removed without his knowledge.

With a family to support and no money, he left for Moradabad a few days ago to work as a labourer.

There he met Shahid, the tout who had brought him to the Gurgaon hospital, when he had fallen ill.

''I heared the tout talking about a kidney sale. I told him you first lured me and now you are trying to dupe someone else. I immediately went to the police,'' said Pappu.

That complaint ultimately led to Friday's police raid in Gurgaon, exposing the kidney racket.

Also, Pappu's complaint served as a caution for others sharing space with him at the Moradabad railway station.

''Some people had come a few days ago asking if we were interested in selling our kidneys. We refused,'' said a laborer.

But not everyone was as lucky. Shahid had already managed to lure 25 people in Moradabad into selling their kidneys, before he was arrested in the police raid.

One of them was 46-year-old Bhagwandas, who was not given the money he was promised.

''They promised Rs 50,000 for a kidney. I got just Rs 30,000,'' said Bhagwandas.

Many daily wagers, like Arvind, agreed to sell their kidneys. Anything between 50,000 and one lakh rupees that they were promised seemed a good bargain.

A year later, the 18-year-old realises what he has lost. He has become too weak to work and barely earns enough to eat once a day.

Every city has a specific place, where hundreds of labourers gather everyday to earn a daily wage of barely 30 to 40 rupees.

This is where they were targeted and where their poverty was taken advantage of.

Despite all the promises made to them, they still live at the local bus stop or the railway station, braving the harsh weather conditions and their struggle to earn a basic livelihood continues.

New game to be based on Ramayana

The Indian epic Ramayana will form the basis of a new online video game for which global entertainment major Sony has teamed up with Richard Branson and new age guru Deepak Chopra.

In a world increasingly dominated by games influenced by western myths, Sony Online Entertainment's multi-player game will be based on ''Ramayan 3392 AD'' - a comic book from Branson and Chopra's Virgin Comics that re-imagines the epic in a futuristic realm.

Acclaimed filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, a co-founder of Virgin Comics, is also involved in the project.

''Ramayana has inspired the lives of millions of people through the ages. The re-imagining of this great ancient epic through the creativity of a game platform reaffirms the fact that Ramayana is one of the greatest stories ever told,'' Chopra said in a statement.

The deal for the game was announced by SOE president John Smedley and Sharad Devarajan, CEO of Virgin Comics, in New York on Thursday.

''Virgin Comics approached us with a portfolio of amazing comic properties based on Indian lore.''

''We particularly love Ramayan 3392 AD, as we feel Virgin Comics telling of The Ramayana is particularly gripping, graphically brilliant and lends itself extremely well to an MMO (massively multi-player online video game),'' said Smedley.

SC takes exception to petition by Jayalalithaa on Rama Setu
New Delhi (PTI): The Supreme Court on Monday took strong exception to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's petition against the Centre going ahead with the Sethusamudram project by destroying the 'Rama Setu'..

The Court, while clubbing her petition for hearing with others on the issue, was anguished that cases were filed opposing the project, three years after it was cleared in 2005.

"Nobody had ever seen the structure. Nobody had ever thought of declaring it as a national monument. It (petition) is comining from her (Jayalalithaa) is surprising," a Bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan said.

The Court's remarks were in response to one of the prayers in Jayalalithaa's petition that the 'Ram Setu' or 'Adams Bridge', a barrier situated south-east of Rameshwaram connecting Talaimanar coast of Sri Lanka, be declared as a national monument.

"Several matters are pending in this court on it (Rama Setu)," the Bench, also comprising Justices Tarun Chatterjee and R V Raveendran, said and added that for declaring 'Rama Setu' as a national monument the former Chief Minister can approach the appropriate authority.

Following the court's observations, senior advocate K K Venugopal, appearing for the AIADMK Chief, preferred to withdraw the prayer.

The Court said Jayalalithaa's petition can be heard along with other pending petitions.

At the outset when Venugopal submitted that the aspect of national security was also involved in the matter, the Bench said "how many petitions can be filed on one subject".

BJP adopts resolution seeking one-third of posts to women
New Delhi (PTI): The BJP on Monday became the second major party after the Congress to reserve one-third of the posts in the organisational structure for women, noting that it was the "first leap" towards women's quota in legislatures.

An amendment in the party Constitution in this regard was on Monday adopted at the BJP National Council meeting here, amid showering of flowers and euphoric women leaders rushing to dais to garland senior leaders L K Advani and Rajnath Singh.

"This will be implemented in three-months time from now but the all powerful Parliamentary Board is exempted from the quota for women," senior leader Sushma Swaraj told reporters.

Once implemented, the 81-member National Executive of the party will have 27 women leaders in it compared to the present 13.

The national women cell chief will now be a member of the Central Election Committee while state presidents will be part of their respective state election committees.

Introducing the measure at the meeting, Swaraj said this would be recorded in the Indian political history as "the first leap towards women's reservation".

"Whenever one would talk of women's reservation the contribution of BJP would be recorded undisputedly," she said.

In Gujarat Narendra Modi government got four per cent increase in women's vote share. "So by introducing this reservation the party will ensure that the women vote for the party surges ahead many fold," she said.

As per the resolution, passed by the National Executive in Bhopal in September last year, the saffron party will from now on have one-third representation of women from its 'mandal' (lowest unit of the party) level to all levels.

HC disallows Kolkata Book Fair at Park Circus
Kolkata (PTI): The Calcutta High Court on Monday disallowed holding of the Kolkata Book Fair, one of the largest in the world, at Park Circus Maidan here for violation of environmental norms and fundamental rights.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice S S Nijjar and Justice P C Ghosh directed the Booksellers Guild, organisers of the fair which was scheduled to begin from tomorrow, to restore the park to its original state and hand over its possession to Kolkata Municipal Corporation at the earliest.

The bench, acting on a PIL filed by the local residents seeking revocation of permission for holding the fair at Park Circus, observed that holding of the huge fair, which attracts lakhs of visitors daily, would be violative of Article 14 (equality before law) and Article 21 (right to life in a congenial environment) of the Constitution.

The bench also observed that the holding of the fair at the congested area would also be violative of Pollution Act, Environment Protection Act and Noise Pollution Act.

After hearing all the parties in the PIL over the last week, the Chief Justice had himself visited the Park Circus area on January 26 to get a first hand idea of the ground situation there.

Several schools, colleges and two important hospitals are located there, which is also a densely populated residential area.

The fair has been in trouble for the last couple of years over its venue. It was uprooted from the Maidan in the heart of the metropolis last year on the ground of environmental pollution and shifted to Salt Lake, and has again been denied a new address in the metropolis.

Indian netizens world's third biggest online shoppers
New Delhi (PTI): Drawn by the facility offered by the web and the diversity of products available on it, Indian netizens have emerged as the third biggest credit card users globally for online purchasings, next only to the Turkish and Irish e-shoppers.

According to a global online survey conducted by leading research firm Nielsen, more than 85 per cent of internet users in the world are purchasing goods or services online, while credit card has emerged as the most famous payment method for such purchases.

In the survey, as many as 84 per cent of online shoppers from India said they have used credit cards for such transactions, next only to 91 per cent in Turkey and 86 per cent in Ireland.

India shared the third position with the UAE, which also has 84 per cent of online buyers using a credit card.

"Shopping on the Internet with the ease of a credit card is especially appealing to consumers in emerging markets who simply cannot find or buy items they want in their retail trade. The Internet has opened up a whole new world of shopping for these consumers," Nielsen's US Customized Research Vice-President Bruce Paul said.

The survey found that credit cards are by far the most common method of payment for online purchases with 60 per cent of global online consumers having used their credit card for a recent online purchase. Among the various credit cards, more than half or about 53 per cent used a Visa card.

Globally, more than half of Internet users have made at least one purchase online in the past month.

Most popular purchased items over internet are books (41 per cent purchased in the past three months), followed by articles like clothing/accessories/shoes (36 per cent), videos / DVDs / games and airline tickets constituted about 24 per cent.

Centre amending two key Acts
Hyderabad (PTI): The Centre is in the process of amending the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and Protection of Civil Rights Act to make them more comprehensive and effective.

"We have invited suggestions from all states on how to make these Acts more stringent. Most of the states have responded and we are in the process of finalising the amendments," Union Minister for Social Justice Meira Kumar said while talking to reporters here on Monday.

The Minister earlier chaired the fourth meeting of the monitoring committee on implementation of SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and Protection of Civil Rights Act in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Union Territories of Puducherry and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Pointing out that there were certain "shortcomings" in the implementation of these Acts across the country, she said her Ministry was working on amendments in consultation with the National Commission for Scheduled Castes.

Kumar, however, said it would not be possible to complete the exercise before the coming budget session of Parliament.

"It will take some more time."

The Centre has embarked on a challenging task of making India "atrocities-free and untouchability-free" by 2010, the Minister said.

Though the number of registered cases of atrocities had come down in many states, it might not reflect the ground realities since many victims are generally scared to approach the police, she said.
Birdflu spreads to 2 more districts of West Bengal
Kolkata (PTI): Birdflu on Sunday spread to two more districts of West Bengal taking the number of affected districts to 13 out of a total 19 even as the state government said it was fully prepared to face any kind of adversity if any human being is found afflicted by the dreaded disease.

Authorities of the two districts confirmed the spread of the Avian Flu and the slaughtering of birds would begin tomorrow.

West Midnapore district magistrate N S Nigam said samples of chicken sent from Chakbelcha village in Debra block of Kharagpur subdivision had tested positive.

In South 24 Parganas, the disease tested positive in Budge Budge, district magistrate Sanghamitra Ghosh said.

Nigam said 40 teams would start culling operations in five km radius of Chakbelcha on Monday.

The disease spread to Baro Khalasamari at Mathabhanga block in affected Coochbehar district where bird flu had already hit four villages.

In the affected district of Howrah, Avian Flu spread to Panchla in addition to Sankrail and with the detection of fresh cases in another block, barely 10 km from here, steps are being taken to keep Kolkata insulated from the disease.

ARD Minister Anisur Rehman told PTI poultry products from the affected areas would not be allowed to enter Kolkata.

Kolkata Municipal Corporation has formed eight teams to to keep the metropolis insulated from birdflu. The teams were moving in different parts of the city to monitor the situation.

Urgent need to address conflicts, Wilson
Guwahati (PTI): Conflict was a scourge on all development activities and needed to be addressed, more so in the north east region faced with various natural challenges, British Deputy High Commissioner to Eastern India Simon Wilson said on Monday.

"Conflict does not only destabilise significant parts of this region, but also deters growth", he said.

"Apart from the tragic loss of life and displacement of people, conflict has catastrophic economic effects - depriving people of their livelihood, homes and farmland, property and other access to basic facilities like education and healthcare", he pointed out.

"With development being stunted, employment opportunities shrink and economic stagnation leads to frustrations which add to instability", Wilson said at a `Workshop on Identity and Development: The twin Challenges in India's Northeast' here organised by the Centre for Development and Peace Studies.

"Conflict, which invariably only sustains criminals and terrorists, is most shattering on the world's poorest and helpless people. Conflict as a rule undermines rights to freedom of expression and transparency in the judicial process", he emphasised.

"The UK is actively supporting conflict prevention around the globe and working closely with the governments on this issue by addressing long-term structural causes of conflict and supporting post-conflict reconstruction", the deputy high commissioner said.

Touching on bilateral cooperation, he said, the UK has a close relationship with India on counter-terrorism with both countries reaffirming their commitment to counter terrorism.
