Being secular is not quit the same as being an atheist. Where but in
India one would find wooden makeshift temples on wheels in the middle
of the streets being used to collect money for the faithfuls.
To find real heresy one has to go through the Philosophical Dictionary
written by Voltaire. It is available as e-book free of cost except
for the downloading.
According to the Old Testament, even god (Baal Marduk) felt threatened
when the tower of Babel was constructed. So he made arrangement so
that peoples around the place spoke different languages, and so became
confused and disunited. From this tale, the power of language is to
be understood. Theism and atheism both depend on the proper use of
language. As long as we speak the same language and not use Orwellian
doublespeak, we don't need to depend on the wrong interpretation of
celestial events by the uneducated theocrats.
