Mr. Mohiuddin, for your information about Indian expatriate in US and elsewhere and their political organization, you are absolutely wrong as always. BJP and Congress, both major political parties have not just presence in US and elsewhere in the world but have very strong organization in US. Here is the link below to check for your self and others who always bashfully attack Bangladeshi expatriate's political aspiration.

I am not sure what makes you think expatriate Bangladeshi does not have the right to do Bangladeshi politics in US or else where. You may be ready to give up your right but why should I?

 

 

Bangladesh government is seriously considering giving voting right to expatriate which in plain English translates to giving share of political franchise. Not only CTG but all previous political government gave assurance to Bangladeshi's leaving abroad that they have planned to include them into voting registration process.

 

 

In recent days I even heard of some Bangladeshi expatriates are demanding to have reserve seats in the parliament the house of politics. Change Bangladesh an American Bangladeshi organization (Mr. Mithu) even floated the idea of nominating fifty people in the coming general election. For various reason I do not endorse any of them. But I certainly demand our voting right to participate in general elections. Almost all countries allows their expatriate citizens to vote, even the tiny war ravaged country Afghanistan arranged their citizen in America to vote in last election. Why not Bangladesh will do the same!

 

 

Once I have the right to vote I must have the fundamental right to do politics of my choice and organize alliance accordingly. Mr. Mohiuddin, you have the right to choose your path of expressing your belief but you or any others do not have the right to forcefully disfranchise my right to do politics. Government has no constitutional or legal right to determine who can and can not do politics.

 

 

I know some people have objection of Bangladeshi politics abroad because they think these organization fights each other which is not true at all. Though Awami League and BNP have rivalry in Bangladesh but in US soil I can tell you I never heard they are fighting each other. Contrarily, the personal relation among two group's members and their leaders are very good. I think political party in Bangladesh can learn from the peaceful coexistence of Awami League and BNP in USA.

 

 

However I know many mosque management committee fights to the blood inside the mosque for power position. There are ample of example of group fight about mosque goers in US Bangla news media. Should we ask US government to stop Bangladeshi's to have their religious right revoked because they fight? NO, Absolutely NOT. There is always good and bad of all group, either it is religion based or politics-Socio based.

 

 

In almost all state in US Bangladesh community has more then one committee of each organization. This year FOBANA happened to be in four places. We can condemn them for arranging fractional FOBANA but we can not ask US government to outlaw all Bangladeshi organization!

Globalization seems to have moved all the boundaries. Consequently, an event in one corner of the earth has an impact on the rest of the world. The NRIs have become very affluent and politically active in the countries of their adoption. The mobilization of the resources on behalf of the earth-quake victims of Gujrat once again illustrated the strong ties between the NRIs and their birth place. 

INOC wants to function as a forum for NRIs residing in USA desiring the promotion of the ideals of democracy, secularism and fraternity so that justice, liberty and equality may be secured for all. INOC  would not only like to see a secular, democratic framework just to survive but flourish in India. 

INOC would like to assume a role similar to goodwill ambassadors, promoting India's image as a secular democratic country here in U.S and abroad.
