In most civilized nations, traffic specially train services run seamlessly from one end to the other through number of independent countries. Trains run from London to Istambul through eight different countries and from Moscow to Beijing every week. Numerous trains and trucks run from Mexico to Canada through United States daily with no or minimum obstruction.
If Bangladesh provides transit facilities, trains could run in the future from Dhaka to Karachi and perhaps beyond to Instambul and thus to Europe. Opening Chittagong port to North-East India and Nepal will enhance the importance of Chittagong vis-a-vis of Bangladesh beyond comprehension, not to mention the money Bangladesh would earn every year. This will also improve the the technical competence of Bangladeshi people to a much higher level required for the maintenance of the railroad tracks and highways.
