[ALOCHONA] Re: Please pray for Bangladesh

Ms. Dalia Satter

All political parties should participate in the election and the election should be held fairly.  Please do not tie "the common people" with an obviously partisan person like yourself when you say we the common people.  The situation that you are imagining with 2/3 rd AL majority more appropriately applies to Jamaat-BNP coalition.  If we can remember things from 35 years ago, then we should not intentionally forget what happened 35 months ago.  After observing BNP-Jamaat's last brutal regime, honestly speaking the opposite will be true if they come back to power.  BNP-Jamaat's 2/3 rd majority almost destroyed the whole country.  The scale of corruption and looting of that time made Ershad look like an angel.  Two prominent AL MPs were murdered (I simply cannot recall how many BNP MPs were murdered during AL's 1996-2001 period).  If they get elected again, they will for sure finish the unfinished work of 21 Aug, 2004.  Jamaati-BNP MPs will start sponsoring the terrorists, but they will no forget to blame the opposition and India (just remember Abdus Salam Pintu, Aminul Hoque, Nadim Mustafa, Dulu etc. and what happened after every bombing incident).   Once again we will see all types of low-life criminals as MPs and ministers (just remember Babar; even though the jatiyatabadi elements minutely criticize every AL move, how many of them ever said that he was a completely wrong person for home ministry?).   They will make sure this time every member in the Army is 100% pro-Jamaat-BNP.  Every pro-liberation element in Bangladesh will be scared, very scared.  Anybody who demands trial for 1971 war crimes will be tried for treason instead.  They will make sure under their new Islamic rule, truth and justice are completely replaced by lies, hypocrisy and gross injustice (they were almost half way there during the last time).  My only prayer for Bangladesh and the Muslim ummah, "O Allah, save Bangladesh and our religion from the Munafiqs, ameen."
