Re: [mukto-mona] Re: [V Day] Bangladesh not mentioned in "16th December Victory Day" News in Indian Media

Some years back a Muslim gentleman was talking very harshly ahainst Bangladeshi Muslims. He used to talk about discrimination against non-Mislims in Bangladesh mostly in private with Hindus; and curse the Muslims, again, mostly in private with Hindus.

He was telling me about another Muslim who had commented to him that Muslims would be the majority religious group in the world within some decades. And his comment to me was something like, "I told him, cockroaches outnumber humans by many multiples in the world today, does that mean cockroaches are stronger than humans?"

Instead of the cockroach question, let me ask, hasn't Bangladesh proven that, three million or three thousand, lives and dignities of Bangladeshis are easily expendable?

Why complain when India does not mention Bangladesh while taking about their victory against Pakistan on December 16, 1971? Isn't it true that Bangladesh has been portraying Pakistan and India to be both freindly nations, even when the facts are that India hepled the creation of Bangladesh, while Pakistani military committed atrocities in Bangladesh?

Some years back, during the early years of internet forums, I was the only Bangladeshi to find it odd for a Bangladeshi freedom fighter group to ask the visiting Pakistani prime minister to apologize to Bangladesh in order to promote the 'existing friendly relationship' between the two nations. My question was like, "would you ask the rapist of your sister to beg your forgiveness so that you can be his friend, or you would be serious about punishing him for his crime?"

I find it worthless, to put it mildly, for Bangladeshis to talk about the 1971 war crimes or about the bravery, sacrifice and glory of 1971, when the facts remain that there has been no methodical approach in Bangladesh to punish any war criminal and that there has been almost no talk of Pakistan compensating for their crimes of 1971.
