Fwd: Re: [mukto-mona] Seminar on "Climate Change and Bangladesh"

Since i can't able to attend same in Dhaka, how-ever urge/request you to ask some important question to the speakers/moderator/geography dept/meteorological dept etc
- Though the storm SIDR has been traced but i suppose it was not well tracked properly. How the storm signal raised from 4 to straight 9/10 during 72 hrs
- Was the evacuation (Not only human but animals) being effectively handled
If not , then when
-TRS(tropical revolving storm)/Tsunami monitoring style to be upgraded.Nether i suppose National weather station/observatory takes help from nearby weather/meteorogical stations who are properly equipped with Satellite like-wise JMA(Japan meteo agency) or other sophisticated station....Those services are not that expensive if can be hired for 10 days prior formation of Low pressure near/abreast Andaman(Which gradually creates to TRS)
- Absence of Tecnical knowldege/Lack of Monitoring/tracking will not improve our so called Disaster Management
-There are more items to be identified on climate change like-wise SOx/NOx emission/ quality of fuel used

Based on my last 24 years of experience within Major oceans all over the world and both the TRS (1991) and (2007), i have incidentally experienced residing in Bangladesh at CTG.
We track TRS in Ocean with much lesser technology but effective help from WMO staying in more vulnerable place with stake of Human Life/valuable properties(Ship cost with cargo) within 90 % probability....
